Best Thing I Ever Put In The Mustang

Anyways, my wife and I are not blessed with children, but if we were, I'd have a stack of photos just like that one. Thanks for sharing.

Best Thing I Ever Put In The Mustang

Cool... after that car Dad drove some rough rigs... until he rounded up '72 Monte with factory 454... then came siblings and a long list of full sized GM sourced station wagons... I used to need his work trucks on some weekends, and I'd trade him my LX for his work truck... the bug got a hold of...

Best Thing I Ever Put In The Mustang

awesome!!! my earliest memory is from the backseat, in a chair, yelling faster daddy faster... '57 Chev Bel Air, black on black... 292cu.in. with 327 fuelie bits including solid cam... 7600rpm shift point, 4spd muncie, 9"... ran 12.9s back in the late 60's early 70's... the one car my Dad says...

Fox Can I Run A Dr With My Stock T5?

it gets complicated... it's not as much about where the car makes peak power (lays over) as it is about your shift recovery. power under the curve... you want to use as much average power as your trans gearing will allow, so, often times with n/a cars that are weaker down low, it means taking it...

Fox Can I Run A Dr With My Stock T5?

When mine was stock, it went 13.97-13.99 at 99.x-100.0 with 2.0x 60's. I was pretty new to the game so car probably would have benefited from driver mod. With 3.73's, off road H and 235/60-15 drag radials it went 13.2's at 100.5-100.8. with low 1.8x 60's. That was all at sea level... on a good...

Fox Can I Run A Dr With My Stock T5?

You're a better man than me, and all those I've hung out with at the track. I've yet to see better than a high 1.9 on street radials with near stock Fox at the track... and those were very rare. Tip of the hat.

Fox Can I Run A Dr With My Stock T5?

In theory yes... my stock one was still going strong with ~50k miles on it and ~100 clutch slipping passes at the track... ran 3.73's then. Swapped the clutch out not too long after I went to bias tires and 4.10's... no longer needed something that was easy to slip and decided to go to a more...

New Owner Spark Plug Gap Question

With the stock motor, coil, dizzy and wires I always ran the factory spec... 0.54. and 14* timing... always ran strong. I don't know why you would run less gap... less spark seems like, well, less to me.

Fox Can I Run A Dr With My Stock T5?

I've got probably 100 passes on my car running dr's, again, holding ~4000rpm and slipping the clutch out... rather aggressively, because the first snap of the clutch has to be enough to get the nose up, then you feather it out the rest of the way while going to the floor with the gas... by the...

Fox Can I Run A Dr With My Stock T5?

Bias ply yes, slick or DOT... You will need a d/s loop for the bias... cannot recall the rules for certain, but I think a dr would not require a loop... unless they updated... last I looked at that was 17 years ago ... I'm pretty sure Hoosier makes a couple 16" Quick Time Pros (DOT) that will...

Fox Can I Run A Dr With My Stock T5?

well... yes... trouble is dr's don't recover from a spin... and since you don't want to dead hook for fear of axles and transmission, that leaves you no option but to slip the clutch if you want to launch hard... or, leave off idle. Are you going to use these tires as a daily thing, or just for...

Fox Can I Run A Dr With My Stock T5?

Mine lived for 100's of passes with 235/60-15 drag radials... BUT... I was not dumping the clutch nor was I power shifting. Holding 4000rpm on the line and slipping it out to low 1.8sec 60 foots and running 13.2's shifting with a slight lift and a tap on the clutch pedal, just enough clutch to...

How Many Hours Labor Is This Job?

First off, close is a relative term... agree? Second... guys that own (small business) engine/machine shops have a lot of "friends". They already work long hours, and most times when you see a closed sign in the window of the shop it's just to keep the "friends" out so they can work without...

How Many Hours Labor Is This Job?

As someone who opts to pay for other parties to do the work, the labor price looks good to me. Regarding the misc. part budget, I assume you have looked over a fairly complete list. For example, reusing your stamped steel rockers vs $200 rocker vs $400 rockers, so, I cannot comment on a misc...

    Bye Bye Mustang

Well... you gotta do what you gotta do. Beautiful car. Betting the decision took some time. Knowing how these things go, regardless of your intentions, I'm sure we will be seeing less and less of you... and that's the part that sucks. I've enjoyed and respected you comments/input/advice. Hope...
