    lol my are times at a standstill here... 12 seconds is nothing crazy... not even respectable anymore. that is so mid 90's. now... you got 12 seconds out of showrooms, you need at least LOW LOW 11's- high 10's to even become near respectable.

    ermm... if your high mileage I would at LEAST rehone the cylinder walls. I would then check out the crank and make sure theres no scratches or anything out of shape. I would also buy a new timing chain set. Would it be cheaper to buy a low mileage explorer engine and drop it in? YES...

    Since my engine is out of my Cobra, I will take a look at the timing chain cover and tell you if there was anything there originally.

    Symptoms of a Bad Timing Chain?

    Check the timing with a timing light/gun. If it fluctuates like crazy, this shall be your timing chain.(can be your balancer as well) I hope your not adjusting your dizzy without removing the spout and WITH a timing light/gun.

    yea wuts the deal with the MPH. Definantly should be a couple more MPH up there. Goodluck with the car dude, congrats on the #'s. What gear/rpm's are you finishing the traps at. The gears may be the reason for the lowER MPH...

    LMAF need a tune... Also you will definantly run out of meter at around 500hp... if your lucky and dont rev too high. All the thing needs is 5volts, anything more and its pegged. Goodluck. PS: is this on a S/C'd/Boosted vehicle?

    Why a lot of money? Stock 351w shortblock, change bearings and rings.. whats that $500. 351 oil pan= $75 351 lower intake to match cobra from a lightning is like $200 Keep your fuel stuff liek it is... no biggy... just extend the rails yourself with high pressure fuel hose.

    Go on ebay, buy a new injector harness. Then REMOVE that engine and buy a 87-95 5.0 EFI engine. goodluck.

    Dude, just SHUT YOUR MOUTH already. You know NOTHING. Compare a FOX body or a SN95 to a VETTE and YES it will get SMOKED. Compare a low-mid 13 second 05 to a low-mid 13 second Vette and its comparable. So now please shut up.

    Nate... Clean the surface clean of oil on your aluminum heads, as well as engine block. Alcohol does a good job, as well as plain jane gasoline... Just douse the rag and clean off the surfaces.

    if your feeling peppy... get some dynamat and insulate the area of the shifter... Personally, I like the CLUNK of the shift into the gear... almost ferrari-ish...

    TDERRICK... YES, you can swap cams without bearings, YES you can do HCI without going into the internals. Internals on a good tune are good for 4-500hp.

    reason being you dont FEEL the clutch is because it is HYDRAULIC! goodluck with her! GET RID OF THAT STUPID DEALER sticker on ur rear also! If anything use skinny fishing wire to get it off. :nice:

    I love my Cobra. It is a 97 Vert, blown with a built bottom end. Depends on you dude. The Cobra already has a wide variety of aftermarket accessories and many shops know how to work on the Cobra engine. Where as nobody REALLY tinkered with the 3V.
