Hurst S/T not sure how I like it..

I've used hurst for over 30 years and still am, It feels as good in my 07 as it did in my 67, clean crisp notchey throws. I'm not slicing butter, I'm shifting a muscle car and want it to feel and sound that way. However, I am ordering the new billet hurst shifter as it looks a bit more sturdy...

    NSR cams???

Speaking of cams, I was reading yesterday about comp cams new cams that keep the cvt, they have 3 different series of them. Thier getting some great numbers, some around 80 hp. They use a cam phaser limiter kit to make use of the cvt to our benifit. JDM engineering made over 400 hp at the wheels...

Do I need a ring and pinion installation kit for my gear install?

    Challenger vs Bullitt

You might think it looks good, but it doesn't do a thing for me, I think it's hidious. The challenger looks awesome in comparison. You know a retro car is done right when you have to look twice to tell if it's new or old. I have to look for the rear hips on a stang at a glance. The camero...

    Throttle body spacers?

They work better on some applications than others. I believe they have shown some benifit on the 4.6 3 valve. Even if it's only 2 hp, thats 2 more than you had. They were much more benificial on carbed engines than efi, so any benifit for us will be small at best.

    NSR cams???

If the hot rod cams are the same ones that I've been hearing about when they were being developed. They were to be good for 30 hp on stock heads and up to 75 on ported heads. They required no springs and there was no lose of mid range. There was only supost to be 2 sets of these cams in...

    Airaid CAI

Yep and thats how they get you. They figure you can get the same results with thier intake, just slap it on and dial in your car. "YEAH RIGHT', like it's that easy for use without a dyno. Lets face it, the stock air boxes aren't that restrictive these days. There's a little to be had with an...

    Afraid to modify Shelby GT!!!

I don't believe we will see the demise of the combustion engine anytime soon, it to efient. However I do believe we will see a variant of different fuels used and alternitive sources. Sure there will be hydrogen and electric cars as there needs to be to relieve the demand on oil. Once there are...

Do all 4.6 3V's give that kick at about 35-4000rpm?

I guess my point is that the tumble flaps are there for a reason, by removing them might net a little more hp, but what do you loose in the proscess. Lowend is pretty important on a street driven car. I would rather have some power at the bottem and a little less at the top on my DD. However, if...

    Airaid CAI

They get away with it because they dyno tune the car with thier product on it. They put the car on the dyno, intall thier intake and start dialing it in to get the most hp out of it. So legaly they get the claimed hp from a stock car with no other mods.

    Challenger vs Bullitt

That may be, but...... my 13.01 stang only cost me 26 grand new with it's puney 4.6 and 300 hp. A pro 5.0 driver isn't going to over come 4,200 pounds or a 40,000 dollar price tag. Our stangs are surprisingly fast for what they are. A pair of slicks and an aluminum driveshaft and your in the...

    Afraid to modify Shelby GT!!!

I agree, for the money you paid, do with it what makes you happy, not what might make the next owner happy. It's your investment, your dream car, don't let the dream die untill it's just the way you want. If it's a keeper, you'll most likely have it untill you pass on, then you won't be around...

    Back in Black....

Black is no different than any other dark color, it shows everything. When your feeling lazy don't worry about it. When your cruising, keep a wipping rag with you, when you stop to show the car off, just give it a quick wipe down. Black is a great color, it looks fast sitting still. I wanted...

    TrueTrac or Locker?

I agree, if you only ran straight like in a drag only car, a locker would be fine. But for those who like to get busy in the twisties, a locker can be a pain. The tru-trac as mentioned, has no clutches to ever wear out, doesn't need a modifier, is extremely tough and loves to turn with just a...

    Hurst shifter install

I'm loyal to a product thats allways been to good to me as hurst has over the years. Mustangs and hurst just naturally go together, even more so with the retro thing going. Nothing looks sweeter than to pull up behind a stang and see the hurst equiped emblem on the truck lid. If I couldn't run a...

Do all 4.6 3V's give that kick at about 35-4000rpm?

I don't believe it's worth it to get the plates, the gains aren't that much for what is lost. Lets face it, for real hp we need things like lt headers, cai and tune, ported heads and cams, the things that really make a difference. All engines have a sweet spot, the 3 valve 4.6 happens to be at...

    Just purchased a 91 SHO

I never had an SHO, but I did have a black 88 turbo coupe, that car was a blast. It could keep up with the mustangs of the day with it's puney 4 banger. It was a very sharp looking car, I wish I would have kept it. I'm pretty sure that the V-6 in the SHO was actually made by yamaha as was the...

    Challenger vs Bullitt

The best times that I've seen with a stock 07 GT, manual tranny car, was a 13.01. Thats with a pro 5.0 driver and perfect conditions. Given the right conditions, a GT may take out the RT stock for stock.

    Hurst shifter install

I love my hurst, a retro shifter for a retro car and it looks awesome. I have the part# for the new hurst billet shifter if anyone is interested, it's part #3915201. It looks much stronger than the original. I'm going to buy it even though there's nothing wrong with my current hurst, the billet...

    TrueTrac or Locker?

The tru-trac is built by the same company that builds the detroit locker, so quality won't be an issue. As long as both rear wheels are planted to the ground, the tru-trac will give you the same performance as the locker. Lockers have the advantage over lsd when rock crawling if one wheel lifts...
