The 05 is the best new car of the year

Not really. First, I didn't start the comparison. Second, I realize that there are vastly superior cars to the Mustang, and I simply can't afford them. That's the appeal of the Mustang: pretty much everyone who wants one can have one.

The 05 is the best new car of the year

You either don't know much about Corvettes or you're just being a Mustang fanboy. The C6 is NOT "the same basic car" or a "minor upgrade". And even if it was, the C5 is already a world class sports car that outperforms most cars that cost twice as much. Read up on the changes and get back to me.

The 05 is the best new car of the year

What are you talking about, it's not even out yet. And it's certainly not better than the C6!! As far as comparisons with imports, maybe the Mustang will be a better drag racer  , but only time will tell if the Mustang will offer better all-around performance, considering the...

Is there a current vehicle that uses the '05 V-6 4.0?

Do they still make the Explorer Sport?? It would be in there. And the Sport Trac I think.

    2005 Mustang Seat Comfort

IMO the Mustang hasn't had adequate seats since 1986 (SVO), so I can't picture them starting now...

    CNBC Reports 05 Under 20000 w/ 300HP

Ford is more likely to think back to the GTS than the fox body. The GTS failed.

IRS in the new Stang, be careful of what you wish for

ABSOLUTELY! For a non-enthusiast, buying a car is very touchy-feely. The car has to be smooth and "just feel right" to be considered for purchase. The current Mustang feels like Fred Flintstone's car compared to other cars that women shop for. Of course, the Mustang has been surviving on...

IRS in the new Stang, be careful of what you wish for

It's all about money. Ford tried to save face (rather successfully) by telling us it's what the enthusiasts wanted. Of course, some of them did...but at least on this board, the majority wants IRS as an option at the very least. It's funny how the people who are preaching that we should go...

IRS in the new Stang, be careful of what you wish for

No, most people drive their Mustang on the street. The street is full of surface irregularities and curves. The drag racers, while being a vocal bunch, are in the minority.

IRS in the new Stang, be careful of what you wish for

The solid axle is not staying true to the Mustang's heritage any more than drum brakes would. The car was simply neglected for decades. Why should I be careful what I wish for? I wish for a well-designed modern suspension in a good chassis, just like the competition. The 2003 Cobra was not...

    Turbo V-6

In regards to the 4.0T, you could just add FI to the V8 and have more power. There really is no replacement for displacement. Plus, people want the "Mustang sound", which can't be replicated by a 4 or 6 cylinder engine.

    Turbo V-6

The only practical reason I can think of to use a smaller FI engine is to improve weight distribution, and the new Mustang has perfect weight distribution with the V8.

sub $20k V8 rumor strikes again

I was going to correct about a dozen errors in mp67's post but I'm still trying to figure out what a Mustang hardtop is.

sub $20k V8 rumor strikes again

Just because there was another post on the Internet about the $20k rumor doesn't make it any less of a rumor. This place is still full of dreamers. Not only that, but some of you seem to think that fog lights cost $5000.

    AutoWeek Article

I'm seriously starting to think that there should be some sort of Mustang IQ test before people are allowed to post. Ford has been touting the Mustang's handling since the 70s. Go to Ford's own Mustang site and read the title. It says "Turning Corners and Heads for 40 Years". I guess they...

    2006 Boss 302 Mustang?

I did not say that MM was not competitive. MM-equipped cars are awesome on the track, but to get them to IRS-like performance, you lose street manners. My SVO has great handling, but if there's a bump in the corner I'll go flying off the road in a hurry. And even when you go all-out with...

    2006 Boss 302 Mustang?

Naturally you can make a Mustang have good handling with a solid rear. But I want the car to not only be good, but to be as good or better than the competition, and also have good street manners. No one else uses a solid axle, and there's a reason for that. With a solid rear, you can get good...

It IS supposed to have trunk space, because if it were not somewhat practical it would cease to exist. That's why it has a backseat too; always has and always will.

I thought the Mustang was not just a compact, but a subcompact. Mine is. So is it a midsize now? When did this happen?
