    cracked intake, need help

    yep I just finished the PI intake swap....mine is a 99+ not sure the year but it doesn't have the aluminum cossover....got it for 75$ so can't complain. Had to do the install twice but did it for under 200$ probably could of done it for less than 150$ but got stuff that I didn't need...

    Yep....I say go for the cheap way.....just get the PI intake (used or new) and then just bolt it on......use RTV....just use a lot of it......despite all the problems I had I still say go for it....only reason I had problems was I didn't use enough RTV..... I probably spent a total of 200$...

    I have done this mod as well and it's better IMO.....I think it makes the gears actually feel the way they are supposed to.......our cars have such crappy power up top and with this intake swap it helps alot.....you will not gain much torque....mainly just HP.....but I notice it from about 3k...

    Yes it makes a huge difference....my car feels completely different....as blev said people have picked up 15-25rwhp peak....and at 6000rpms' where are cars make nothing people are picking up close to 40rwhp.......so for less than 200$ for everything it's a damn good mod for the money......unless...

    hmmm well all this sounds like a royal pain in the ass.....I just borrowed a buddys Obd2 scanner and erased the codes....I want to see if they come back again...then I am going to get a little more involved..... I just have a hard time.....because it runs so good...no problems at all...

    alright well heres an update..... after driving to school approx 30 miles rountrip....there appears to be no whistle anymore.....when I pulled in the garage I got out to listen for a leak didn't hear anything so went to go turn the car off and WHAM....check engine comes on.....so I am going...

    yeah last night I checked over all the bolts making sure nothing backed out but didn't check for a vacuum leak at all....I am going to do that before I leave this morning....thing is the car runs fine....so I doubt its a vacuum leak :notnice:
