    Not to appear any more nobbish than I have too, but what will you get for changing out the LCA's ? I understand what LCA's do, Im just not sure what advantage replacement parts will give you :shrug:

    It seems to me that a good deal of the slop is from the tranny and not the rearend. I believe Shiroelex is on the right track with how to reduce the slop.

    This is definetly cold weather related, not a leaking head gasket as long as the dipstick is clear on the part that sits in oil normaly. The white stuff on the cap is from condensation, most oil brands recommend more frequent oil changes for cars that get occasional use or driven short distances...

    you shouldnt need a dyno tune from changing gears. If you mod the engine with bolt on's or power adder's then yeah a dyno is needed.

    If the car is hi mileage you might expect to see a small amount of smoke after it has been sitting for a while. The oil on the floor is more of a problem, you need to find out where it is coming from then come back and let us know what you found...

    Solenoid is bad, or Starter is bad, or Gound attachment points are not clean enough to make a good connection. In that order. My moneys on the Soleniod.

    Yeah it happens a lot where I work with our Ford Superduty trucks. They have a tool that bores out the old plug hole and taps it for an over sized plug....works fine. 3300 is a lot of money for a head, I'd definetly take my business somewhere else if you decide to go that route, unless the cars...

    Im sure someone will correct me if im wrong but I believe manual transmissions dont actualy need fluid changes unless you suspect contamination, maybe 1 or 2 over the life of the car because unlike auto transmissions a manual does not put the fluid under pressure or heat it to very high...

    Your new battery is defective, take it back where you bought it and get another. If the car wasnt running down the old battery then the car isnt the problem....obviously. Dont over think it. Its the battery.

    Forget the felt, just use the very thin foam tape. Thin foam is what 99% of car manufacturers use to prevent sqeaks...and you can find it at any hardware store.

    Couldnt get the old shifter off to install the MGW!!!! :(

    This should allow you to get between the housing and the shifter without damaging anything. The tool should cut the RTV for you with ease since windshield sealant cures harder than RTV. http://www.pipeknife.com/coldknife.asp
