    short block questions????

    short block questions????

Personally, I would NOT use MMR if they were the last company on Earth selling engines. Some like them, some have been severly burned by them. From what I have PERSONALLY seen of their stuff is that they do not have any quality control. That is on top of their arrogant attitude as well...

    4.6 trickflow cams?

First, I am not the one telling Trick Flow to change the specs on the cam. Read the post again. The perfect N/A cam IMO should have an LSA of 108 - 112 depending on the idle characteristics you are looking for. I run off the shelf Crower Stage 2 PI SC cams in my N/A car. When I first...

    4.6 trickflow cams?

LSA Trickflow Stage 1 Cam -> 112 LSA Trickflow Stage 2 Cam -> 114 At least 3 big modular players are asking Trickflow to regrind the Stage 2 Cam with a LSA of 108 to be the perfect N/A cam.

4.6 build how high of compression can it take?

Really, where did I say it was a stock NPI engine? My entire combo has been listed, oh I don't know, 4 - 5 times in the last 2 months. I am not retyping it out, there is a search feature, I suggest you learn how to use it, or is it beyond what you are capable of doing...

4.6 build how high of compression can it take?

432 RWHP N/A has been achieved by a 2V 5.0L Big-Bore. This car is currently the fastest N/A 2V car as it beat KenB's N/A 2V best time. I have posted my dyno graphs and I don't feel like I need to do it again. Believe it or not, I don't really care. My car made 348 RWHP in full street trim...

4.6 build how high of compression can it take?

The most I would go is 11.5:1 Compression on 91-94 Octane fuel with a good dyno tune. If I was capable of writing my own tune and don't have any problems occassionally fine tuning it, I would run 12:1 on 91 - 94 Octane fuel.

4.6 build how high of compression can it take?

Really, I am at 360 RWHP with a N/A 2V auto and it is NOT a fully built N/A combo. I don't have UDP's or a CAI or long tube headers and am under 11:1 compression using 91 Octane fuel...

    rwhp loss through the drivetrain

If you had the stock clutch and stock flywheel, I could give you a fairly accurate estimate, but I have got no clue as to what your new flywheel and clutch lose. If you had a complete stock drivetrain, you car would be making ~360 HP at the flywheel.

    rwhp loss through the drivetrain

If you really want to know, put the engine on an engine dyno... What does it really matter what it makes? That said, it is a percentage, but it is not how you guys are calculating it. The proper way to calculate it is to know what percentage of power your Clutch/Torque Converter loses...

    4.6 trickflow cams?

The test car did that with a 4.6L... Up until now, if you used the same heads, cams, intake, exhaust combo on a N/A 2V 4.6L and a N/A 2V 5.4L, the 4.6 makes considerably more power. The best N/A 2V 5.4L is flirting with just under 300 RWHP currently. Similar N/A 2V 4.6L cars are at 340+...

    4.6 trickflow cams?

I have valve reliefs in my pistons and Crower Offset Retainers in the heads because I am using NPI heads. However with the Crower Offset retainers, you can run over .610 lift in PI heads without having to have valve reliefs notched into your pistons...

    4.6 trickflow cams?

Stock 3V heads flow between 222 - 237 CFM, depending on who you obtain the info from. Ported they can get over 300 CFM. It doesn't matter whether they are ported or not, the N/A 5.4 3V engine has not achieved 400 RWHP with better heads, cams and intake combo, so it is pretty safe bet that even...

    4.6 trickflow cams?

TFS Stg 2 Cam is almost identical to Crower Stg 2 PI SC cam. 234/234 .581/.581 @ 114 LSA. I run those in a N/A car which is currently the most powerful streetable N/A 2V on this board and I am doing it with an auto to boot, so those cams will work N/A... The TFS heads will not solve the...

    Brother In-Law's Cougar

89 - 98 MN12/FN10( Thunderbird, Courgar, Mark VIII ) are not related to the fox chassis at all. I have a 1996 Thunderbird LX Sport. There is no Long Tube header that will fit these cars without some form of modification, I am running Kooks Mid Length headers that are designed for these cars...

    bama chips or brenspeed

Of those 2, I would recommend Bamachips. I have read more negative about Brenspeed than Bamachips. I know that Brenspeed has had quite a few issues with tuning Whipple SC'd S197's and has needed the assistance of JDM...
