    ok like I said, I was swapping the dist. and the damn oil pump shaft came up with the dist. then before I could grab it, it fell back down and fell into the pan. What is involved in getting to it and putting it back. this has never happened before and the last time I had the oil pan off...

    yeah my 331 with a stage 3 cam makes 391 at the wheels n/a, but I guess it is possible.......don't really know how, maybe power adder like a small nitrous shot, but who konws. I don't think it is n/a.

    I had a combo similar minus the blower and it was good for about 330-335 fwhp, so I think gearbangers estimation with the blower is a pretty good guess.

    yep thats detonation unless it doesn't sound like a bunch of marbles, then it could be an intake backfire. if det., then back the timing down a degree or two. did it do it before the tune up? my 3924's are gapped to .42 :shrug:

    assuming it is running and tuned right you should easily make 340-350 fwhp (conservatively I would guess) if you have the corresponding exhaust components. You could have gone with a better cam but the alphabet cams are decent. I used to run a B-303 on my old 306. Any idea what they said...

    you can try to tighten them but like he said, if that doesn't work it is the bushings that are rotted. if they are stockers just replace em with some cheapies or some lakewoods.

    your setup looks pretty good. I seriously doubt you will pick up 14rwhp with just the chip, but you could change cams or always port your intake which should get you there before the chip will.

    honestly, it isn't that difficult if you jack up the car and do it with it still in. that way you don't have to take it out....just drop the oil pan.
