    180 thermostat

:stupid: The lower t-stat was a trick from the carb days to be able to run more timing & run richer... and on boosted FI applications, its good to aid in the prevention of detonation. Not worth running anything less than the 196* t-stat on a N/A street driven car. Gas mileage will get worse...

    Tint Ticket

I've argued my way out of several tickets by just calling the police department, and talking to the cop.. (in some cases just flat out bothering them wasting their time until they say ok geez I'll take care of it.)

    Fuel filter?

Anyway just for future reference if this thread gets searched, replacing the fuel filter is pretty simple. Just get the disconnect tool from Autozone (the O-shaped one with the spring.) You can use the ones in the writeup below, but the spring ones are much easier (in my opinion) to get to...

    Hard to shift transmission.

Agreed. Try changing the fluid first. Sometimes shifting in to 2nd really quickly before going to 1st helps as well.. of course, that's more of a band-aid type fix.

    KB pulley change

Well, KB seems to have a negative opinion in general regarding just about every popular Mustang mod except their supercharger.. I personally take what they say about other modifications with a grain of salt. Besides a CAI, a straight through muffler like Bassani or Magnaflow will give you a...

    New 03 GT

True, but they are barely effective enough to keep the car together on a full throttle launch. You need full length, weld-in subframe connectors to do what subframe connectors are truely designed to do. Not short-length, and not bolt on. Full length weld-in.

Brothers performance makes that same speedcal, and its 10 bucks cheaper.

    almost electrical fire!!...help

You probably overheated the switch. You should run a dedicated and fused power wire to the switch, a dedicated ground wire to the switch, and then splice the neons together and run that one wire to the switch. My guess is you had something wired backwards.. perhaps you wired the power to where...

    installing new gauge

You can buy fuse taps from Autozone, for like 2 bucks. It plugs in to your fuse box in the dimmer switch position, and has a wire that runs out of it. You just run the wire from your gauge down to this wire, and you're all set. This method eliminates having to splice factory wiring (which I...

    Roll Cage/Subframes...?

I'd like to see your mod list if you're seriously considering a roll cage :)

Anyone ever modify the headlight pull knob?

Um.. the Foxbody's don't have pull headlight switches... but... ok.

Coolant Plug for an Autometer gauge.

Good idea (IMO.) I get MUCH more accurate temp readings now than I ever did before. I saw 230-250 after it got hot with the first method (as I say in the how-to.)

Anyone ever modify the headlight pull knob?

I think he means to replace it with a dial or button. I haven't seen a kit to do that, but most dimmers switches just have a regular wire bundle running to them. You could get a switch you like, and wire them separately for parking/low beams, then get a little rheostat of your choosing for...

Coolant Plug for an Autometer gauge.

http://www.sgarlic.com/04stang/watergauge.html There are 2 possible install options there, and before you remove that block plug, make sure to read the second possible option and why I recommend that.

Weird looking oil in oil cap

As said above, and in addition, if you live in a really humid climate that happens. I never see that hear in AZ on any of my vehicles, but took a 3 week trip back to Wisconsin last year, and had it within a few days (even with sufficiently warmed up trips each time.)

    00 GT Alt voltage/amps

110 is the stock alt rating. I thought I saw somewhere that autos had 115, but I don't recall where I saw that.

    Shift kit question

I thought I heard some talk about these tranny's already had most of the j-mod done on them from the factory. So some of you guys have physically done this, and that's not true?
