    rocky if your going to swap a whole PI motor in I would get a 2002-2005 explorer motor.. Thats what I am doing with my car, the reason is because it's a aluminum block so you save quite a bit of weight off the front. You can get them from bone yards pretty cheap

    The threads are torn out of the head.. you are going to have to install a quality thread insert made for this problem on the modular engines. You can find the kit just about anywhere to fix it

    You could do that.. but the explorer motor is good to swap into a gt because of the weight savings and the aluminum block could also be sleeved for big bore.

    We don't need to use this system. we have IDS and it programs normal pats keys.. :shrug: Yeah i see your point.. I doubt any cars will get stolen from this since it's just cloning a existing key As long as the key is reliable like a normal pats key it should not be a problem...

    The only way a 5.4 is worth it is in a 4v configuration. the reason for this is the 4v heads are not effected as much by the limited bore size all modulars suffer from. some people have tried 5.4 2v builds and found it was not worth it and they would have been better off with a 4.6 sleeved...
