Fox Closed Out The Track Season With Two Personal Milestones

It has a 4-point bar and I just this year stepped up to 9-inch wheels LOL.

Fox Closed Out The Track Season With Two Personal Milestones

It's not my daily, but I do drive it on the street, about 5-7k miles per year. I was talking to another guy and he was complaining about how heavy his ex-Bondurant track-only Mustang is..."still has electric windows". So does mine...plus working A/C and a full interior :D

Fox Closed Out The Track Season With Two Personal Milestones

Over 1,000 track miles in one year, and over 10,000 miles in my lifetime. And, I kept knocking time off each session, and took a whopping 3 seconds off my prior personal best at Arizona Motorsports Park, set just last weekend. That's a gigantic improvement, with absolutely no change in...

    Fox Front Springs Install Question

STICKY mess. Like, gets on everything you touch and doesn't want to come off.

    Fox Front Springs Install Question

Go to a hardware store and get a tin of silicone "plumbers grease" and use it liberally. It appears to be the same thing as Prothane or Energy Suspension bushing grease for a fraction of the cost. Also makes a gigantic sticky mess, so wear latex gloves when handling.

    Fox Front Springs Install Question

Other way around. The rubber bushings are "captured" and do all their work by deflection alone. If you tighten them with the arms hanging down, they'll be preloaded when the car is at ride height. The urethane ones are free to move, if lubricated properly.

    Build Thread Enola- Finishing touches

Dynomax VT is the muffler you're looking for. They have a mechanical spring-loaded baffle that keeps the mufflers relatively quiet and drone-free until you romp on it.

Taurus Fan And Fal 33054 Install On A Fox

Sorry, I was mistaken. The fan clips in the bottom, but still need to fab brackets for the top, and then the factory foxbody 5.0 overflow bottle will mount correctly on the drivers side of the fan when the fan is upside down.

Taurus Fan And Fal 33054 Install On A Fox

If you mount the fan upside down, you can bolt it to the top of the radiator using factory holes/clips. Then just fab some bracketry for the bottom.

    Switched Power For Fan Controller

The low coolant level sensor power is right there handy near the radiator.

    Softer Suspension?

Old balljoints will make these cars ride like chuckwagons. Also, rough ride is almost never caused by the springs, unless the rates are very extreme. The usual culprit is the shocks/struts.

    T-5 Drain Plugs Stuck??

Are you sure you're wrenching on the correct "plugs"? If you can put a socket or wrench over it, it's not a drain or fill plug, and if you remove it, you'll need to take the trans apart to make things right again. If it's on the passenger side of the trans and you can put square a 3/8 drive...

    1987 Fox Appearance Improvements?

Something quick and easy that makes a HUGE difference is to run a coat of semi-gloss black along the horribly ugly spot-welded seam flange under the rocker panels.

    Steering Rack Swap Chart

The effort levels in that chart don't really jive with what I've heard from the former ford engineer on c-c.com. I'm pretty sure the cobra rack is firmer than the GT and Mach racks. But the "desirability" is spot on. And they're ALL an improvement over any rack that ever came from the...

    Easier Egress/ingress (door Handle Issues)

99% of the time this is a pin problem (more specifically, the bushings). If they've been replaced before, the job is pretty easy because the pins are held in with a cotter pin. If they've never been replaced before, it's a PITA to cut the old pins out.

    Fox Hot Weather Kills Motor

If not TFI, my vote is fuel pump, especially if it gets worse with less gas in the tank to cool the pump.

Double Check My 5 Lug List.

I would get a gasket for the rear cover instead of silicone. And what rear caliper brackets on the rear? Factory ones won't work, you'll need North Racecar units. You'll also probably want a bumpsteer kit.
