taking the weight off a drag car!

Great List 90MustangGT!!! As for the question above...Yes the dogbone is useless when running any numericaly higher gear set then stock. Take it off and throw it in the Garbage. When I went too 3:73's in the old 8.8 I removed it...it's been a common thing to do for years. Shon

    Steering Problem PLEASE HELP!!

Just disconnect the steering shaft again, align the steering wheel in the correct position and reconnect the shaft. (Make sure the wheels are straight as well when doing all of this) You'll need someone in the car to hold the wheel for you straight while you bolt everything back up. I'm not sure...

    AFR please help me understand

Rick91GT hit it right on the money of course. Depends on what cam your running....If you are going to be changing your spring's check out Comp Cams Bee Hive Springs. They're Extremely Light and allow you to get a bit more RPM out of a Hyd. Roller Cam then a conventional spring would allow. I'm...

    Rear end swap

Redline makes an awesome 80W90 Synthetic Lubricant with just enough fric. modifier added too it...I ran it in my old 8.8. It's better to have not enough fric. modifier then have too much added in the rear end. To much fric. modifier will cause the clutches to slip and the result will be one...

Alternator choices for a carb'd setup

I converted from EFI to Carb As Well.... I found that the Stock Alt. was not enough when I had the car running with the dual fans going. Of course the big Aeromotive fuel pump, Crane Ignition, etc. etc. didn't help either. Anyhow I took a tottaly different approach on my set up. I went with a 1...

Pros/Cons to running a high volume oil pump compared to a stock oil pump?

VERY interesting article...thanks jrichker!! So were do/did all these myths come from then? Of course you have to remember that this article is coming from one of the biggest/most popular manufactures of stock & HV oil pumps....Of course there not going to knock HV pumps. Just a thought...Meling...

Pros/Cons to running a high volume oil pump compared to a stock oil pump?

90MustangGT hit it pretty dead on.... Also something that has not been metioned yet is that not only do HV pumps rob HP, can suck stock oil pans dry etc. etc. they also raise the oil temp since the oil is circulating at higher volumes...another draw back to an HV oil pump. Basically like said...

    aluminum radiator

I'm not just saying this because I own one and I love it....but I have honestly not heard of anyone having problems with Be Cool Rads. I have heard bad stories about Griffins, Fluidyne and now Ron Davis(Stangbear) That's pretty pathetic about them sending a customer stop leak to fix there...

Any Quality Difference from Main Girdle To Main Girdle?

There are so many different opinions and theroies' on main cap girdle's. MYount makes a good point up top as well as CoupedUp. I've always felt the main purpose of a Main Cap Girdle was to tie the Main Caps Together and help Prevent Cap Walk....If you can afford it I think it's a great buy. Also...

    aluminum radiator

Ron Davis Makes Awesome radiators, a friend of mine has one in his rod. I was going to go with one but the availability on it was kind of slow here in Canada so I went with a Be Cool setup which I am very impressed with. I combined it with a Spal Dual Electic Fan Setup through Be Cool as well...

Carb guys, where did you mount your fuel pump while still using the stock tank?

I'm running the exact same (Aeromotive Street Rod Pump located on Rear Bumper Frame/Brace) as HOtrain except with a Mallory Fuel Pick Up. I then mounted the f/filter right off the pump. I'm also running -10 Supply And Return Lines. Work's Great!! Shon

Why would these oem lifters need clearancing or special pushrods?

Right On....You'll have no problem's at all then.

Why would these oem lifters need clearancing or special pushrods?

If the block your using is a factory Roller Block which I imagine it is (You didn't mention if it is or not) then those Lifters will slip right in without any modifications/clearencing. It's just for Non Roller Block's that Clearencing and different length pushrod's is needed. Shon
