    Odd Dyno Results

Going to go to another shop and give an adjustable regulator a shot. It's got a good bottom end (DSS built / balanced) with a windage tray, Fluidamper balancer and upgraded valvetrain parts, so I'm not too concerned with the occasional trip to 6500 or more. Only reason I got it dynoed...

    Odd Dyno Results

Thanks for the responses! As far as some answers due: Intake selection: picked the Victor EFI based on using Engine Analyzer 3.0 software to simulate the engine. I was able to model the Carb setup fairly accurately against the actual dyno results so my assumption was that with an accurate...

Front Coil Over and 60’ times – 65 Mustang

True it does; however he only referenced changing the front suspension to a coilover arrangement of which the weight different and moving the shock is not going to make a huge difference. Now if that's coupled with lowering the car, you're absolutely correct it is going to make a huge difference.

    Disc Brake Conversion Question

No, I forgot. Do you know the center hose yet or not? Should be a simple matter of adapting the two sizes together... Will try to check on it.

Front Coil Over and 60’ times – 65 Mustang

The change in CG isn't going to make any difference. If anything you should lighten the front of the car which will help and it'll likely reduce friction allowing the front to rise easier which also helps. I don't see any downside to this change.

    Odd Dyno Results

I just find it odd that it would pull to almost 7000 with the old carb intake, but with EFI it seems to be running out of breath. Not ruling out the cam, but just seems odd to me. While they didn't have wideband on it, I think it might be running lean as the headers got hot and burned off...

    Odd Dyno Results

I'll look into that since the current cam was discussed and picked on the phone with the Lunati tech guy based upon the original carburetor setup. Also going to look into the ignition some, wouldn't be surprised if the Ford distributor isn't all that great for high RPM use...

    Odd Dyno Results

Air/Fuel Ratio wasn't working unfortunately. Based on the old carb numbers with a Victor manifold (not reflected in that chart) it was doing 335 or so to the wheels which is near 400 at the crank and about right for 30lb/hr injectors.

    Odd Dyno Results

I converted my car to EFI not too long ago and only recently got a chance to get it on a dyno to see how it's doing. Here are the basic specs: 306 w/ ~ 10.5:1 compression TW Heads (upgraded valve springs), not ported Lunati roller cam 51017 Victor EFI intake 30 lb/hr injectors Pro-M...

    Long time, no post

Nicely done Blake! I'll be posting pics of my long-absent (2 yrs in the body shop) ride soon. When it's in a less-than-embarrassing state of cleanliness!

Sway Bar Fitment With Versailles Rear End

You'll be fine with the Traction Masters. If you're putting in subframe connectors, mount them to those. If not, reinforce the floorpan. They really only become an issue for really hard cornering, having fun on the street I don't see them being a problem.

Sway Bar Fitment With Versailles Rear End

What do you want to do with the car? Those Lakewood lift bars are NOT meant for any sort of spirited cornering. The Shelby Bars will be better than those...

    Versailles Axle Re-Install

Meant they were the first set of shims we bought. Had to get another set since I had to replace the pins through the springs due to them breaking and the new pins had larger heads on them.

Sway Bar Fitment With Versailles Rear End

If you haven't already bought the Shelby tractionmasters, I wouldn't! They tend to bind in hard cornering and act kind of like hitting a bump stop - ie, crazy loose. Do have to say they work good at the drag strip though. Don't mount them to your floor pans, only to subframe connectors or...

Sway Bar Fitment With Versailles Rear End

Can't provide any fitment advice, but what springs do you have and what springs / sway bar do you have up front? I autocrossed my '67 extensively with 620 fronts, 1 1/8" front bar, and 4.5 leafs rear (no bar) and it worked really well. If I put a bar on it, it'd be a really small one as the...

    Versailles Axle Re-Install

Yes. Had 4 degree shims to raise the pinion up. Used a Dark Horse crossmember which required a 3/4" spacer at the back to get the driveline angles to line up. Naturally this required the tunnel to be "clearanced". Have you measured your angle yet? I think I still have the original shims...

    Boneyard electric fan

Fans from the 3.8L Taurus are popular. I got mine for like $15 from the junkyard. Two speed fan, high-speed requires a high-amp (70 amp) relay. They pull a ton of air.

    Versailles Axle Re-Install

Depends on the powerband you've got. I spin mine to 6500 and have 3.70s. When I first put in the new center section it had 4.11s, but those were too steep and went back to the 3.70s.

    Versailles Axle Re-Install

Broke 1 axle on the starting line at the drag strip which in turn broke my Currie center section (busted a bearing cap off and trashed the diff pretty good). Found out the axles were slightly bent (junkyard rearend) which weakened them. Had over 120 drag strip passes on them (using DRs)...

    Rear end leak??

Next time you have the axles out, have them checked at a machine shop for straightness. Had this issue on a 9" axle that had 2 bent axles (axle was bought from a junkyard). They leaked no matter what condition the seals were in up until the day they broke...
