Best way to raise a 67?

The sheet metal around the upper shock mount holes is thin and frequently cracked. Using air shocks or clamp-on springs will put more stress in that area. Those mounts were not designed to carry the load of the body. New springs are the way to go.

1" drop spindle, '70 drum style?

For the drop spindle to be a worthwhile mod, it has to do two maybe three things. 1. Lower the front end. Obviously, but if that is all it does, even though it is a better way to lower the front end, front springs are cheap. Most won't buy them just to lower their car. 2. Allow wider...

1" drop spindle, '70 drum style?

To summarize the benefits of the drop spindle: 1. Lower ride height without losing suspension travel. 2. Ability to run wider wheels? Max now is 4.75 bs on a 17" wheel, would the drop allow a 5.5 bs? 3. Better handling from better scrub radius? And the options: 4. Shorter steering arm for...

Functional or Shelby-style roll bar for the DOHC '67 vert?

Is there a way to reinforce the Shelby roll bar with two extra bars that are hidden by the quarter trim panels? The geometry would not be as strong as the four-point pictured but it would be an improvement. What are the NHRA regs on the angles/length of the cross bars of a four-point roll bar?

Finished prototype Mustang disc brake spindles

This is the brake kit I am interested in: Pro-Vintage disc brakes: The heart of our system is a well designed aluminum billet hub. The hub assembly provides the exact same offset as factory disc brake units. Wheel offsets with our negative Roll system are 3.75 backspace using a 14 inch wheel...

Global West uses 70-73 spindles with their brake kits and a special aluminum hub to maintain the factory wheel offset. However, GW isn't selling the kits with spindles anymore because they don't have any spindles. GW mentioned NPD as a source for spindles but said they were out of stock (I...

Anyone retro-fit a factory tach to their Mustang?

The gauge cluster is different too. You will need to get a 67-68 tach dash to fit the tachometer. They are not easy to find and are not cheap.
