Occasional puff of white smoke...what does it mean?

Smoke Signals Huh? I thought they already elected a new Pope. OTOH too bad you can't get a whiff so you can tell if it's oil or coolant.

Vibration above 45mph after T-5 Swap

Bad Vibs Some people have had problems with T5 swaps because the angle of the tranny changed. Did the driveshaft/tranny angle change when you put the T5 in? On '65-66 the drive shaft angle is supposed to be around 3 deg. I'm not sure about the '68. Ronstang knows a lot about this problem...

    Darn it

I should be so lucky! Wheels hell! I THINK the only removable part left on mine is the trunk lid. I've finally worked through most of the major house renovation stuff and think I might get to do something on the poor baby this week. Unfortunately I still have major straightening to do...

Finished prototype Mustang disc brake spindles

Great question! If a steering arm mod were made it might be possible to put together a R&P setup with the same turning radius as the original! Roy.

Come again? I didn't read anywhere Historic dumping on technology. There were some discussions about testing. There is nothing wrong in my book about discussing future availability of a thing like this, others disagree, Historic included, thats ok. Roy. Well I guess...

    Darn it

Ha Ha Forgot what you were going to say, didn't you ... You're pretty young for that to be happening aren't you? Oh well, can I have your Mustang when you can't drive anymore? Mine doesn't seem to be moving. Roy.

sn95 disc brakes on classic mustang?

Maybe it was a Shaggy dog story... Ha Ha. He had an awfully ambitious laundry list. Looks like the illust. are all gone. I do autocad and a little design, maybe we should talk. PM me if you're interested. Roy.

testing Actually, I agree that as this is a well proven design, design testing is certainly not as critical as it wuld be for a "fresh" design. The thing is you HAVE changed the alloy, and sometimes you get surprises in the heat treating process. Road testing as a couple of the other...

Cast vs forged Ha Ha. Historic, there is actually considerable question whether cast is superior to forged, even though the 2005 Mustang does use forged steering knuckles (spindles) After degins corrected my faux paux regarding the factories process I dug around a bit. There is a very good...

Thanks for correcting my mis-apprehension. What alloy did they use BTW? Just curious. I believe you misinterpreted my comments. I was not suggesting "use testing", though as some others have stated, it provides some level of confidence. I was reacting to the following statement: To me...

Cast vs forged It is my understanding that stock ford spindles are forged, which would make it problematic as to whether the cast spindles designed by degins are as strong or stronger than stock ford parts. As to testing, metallurgical, Xray, and dimensional analysis can not substitute for...

    Wrecked hopes / Fond Memories

Much Stronger, and stiffer. Many of the factory welds broke loose in the crash. They will all be clamped in position and re-welded. I've spent quite a bit of time looking into what can be done to stiffen up the fastback. I'll be adding some bracing similar to what Mustangs Plus does with...

Not much progress for a while Thanks for asking. I have had to spend all my time working on completing some work on my house for the last few weeks. I expect to get back to working on the Mustang in a week or so. Milo, the body guy who has given me so much help, dropped off some clamps...

    All time low...

Heard that before. Providers over subscribe as a matter of course. They depend on averaging workload out. I have problems more than occationally. I accomodate my schedule best I can and don't generally get more than 1 -2 chokes every couple of weeks. Dude do you know how hard it was to...

    Paint Problems

Not so bad ... Yeah, and the car was prepped. Its at least smooth. Just take it back down to the primer. The less clear metal you have the less passivating you have to do. Just sand as much as you have to and no more is my motto. Roy.
