Contemplating moving on to a notch

I have a vert and a bike and I have a 90 hatch in the last stall of the garage. You can run the vert to 13.50 at the track without a rollbar and then to 11.50 with only a four point. I am at the point with the vert that I need the four point but nothing more. Sometime before I hit 11's I will...

    Will AC work after removal?

Just to throw in my 2 cents here, let me preface this by saying that I am 609 certified. One of the things mentioned when I was studying for the certification was that some of the oil could boil off and be captured in the vacuum and that is you didn't have a vac with an oil separator like the...

    Hydraulic fan

Like Hissin50 said some of them use the power steering pump also some brake boosters use the PS pump as well.

    Hydraulic fan

Valeo says HDFS frees up vehicle designers because it allows the radiator and fan to be placed anywhere in the vehicle - behind the back seat or under the floor pan, because the system has an air-moving power that is 20 to 30 times that of an electric fan. With traditional cooling, the grille...

Smog pump removal, FMS A/C Delete. New belt routing idea.

Hey guys I thought that at first too but look again. The water pump turns the same way in both routings.

Smog pump removal, FMS A/C Delete. New belt routing idea.

The front of the tensioner has a plate on it with some markings to show its working range and when a belt has stretched too far. Pretty easy to read it once you look at it.

Smog pump removal, FMS A/C Delete. New belt routing idea.

Ok got ya. Well I don't see a problem with your routing, have you tried it both ways? Just curious because the realative position of the belt going around the water pump and the belt going between the alt and the P/S hasn't changed between the two so the only advantage would be if the...

    Hydraulic fan

Do you drive a caterpillar D8 dozer or something?? Wow I've never seen that on a car.

Smog pump removal, FMS A/C Delete. New belt routing idea.

I believe they also offer an idler pulley that just replaces the compressor just like they do for the smog pump. Not dogging you just curious. I run at the track yet I left my A/C in, without the clutch engaged it takes almost nothing to turn it.

Smog pump removal, FMS A/C Delete. New belt routing idea.

Out of curiousity, why do you want to relocate the PS?

Fuel injection motor heads on carb motor?

I ran an 84 Mustang with a 91 roller cam long block, a Bronco two barrel intake and an Autolite carb of a Jeep 360 for about six years as a daily driver. It had tons of torque those heads matched up well to a big two barrel.

    getting too hot!!!

I am however curious how this guy turned a conversation that was essentially talking about coolant flow rates and how they affected engine temperature and changed it into why he doesn't understand why his engine will stay cooler driving down the highway at a low load with a continuous supply of...

    getting too hot!!!

Oh well I think the points that I was trying to make have been conveyed to anyone who isn't just arguing to try to make an a@@ out of themselves or just wants to pick a fight. I would be interested in seeing how those flow restrictors were marketed. I would think that something like that...

    getting too hot!!!

Well that non-stock pump flows over 80gpm at 5000 RPM a stock one is probably in the range of 60gpm at that speed. What's your point? The coolant can still cycle through the entire system several times a minute assuming the thermostat is open. If you knew anything about this subject you'd...

    getting too hot!!!

An electric fan simulates air passing over the radiator?? Mine actually moves air :rlaugh: You car runs cooler on the highway because more air passes through the radiator and your engine runs under a continuous low load condition. So the engine produces less heat and the radiator is able...

    Internet world vs. Real World...

I'm with you on this one. Once again everything with imports is exaggerated for an example the curb weight on a 94 Integra is 2690 lbs. So I suppose you could shave it down say to 2500 lbs. but below that you would be missing something important like floorboards or doors. There isn't much...

    LOL, Now THIS is rustproofing

I wanna know what the inspection guy said when he stuck his mirror under there. After he called the EPA and rescued a family of furry woodland creatures.

    O.k wtf might have happened?

I would pressure test your cooling system that should show if you have a coolant side head gasket leak. I agree it looks like you have a head gasket problem.

    Cop Followed Me Home Tonight...

I think the point being made here is that too often the police seek out a car like the Mustang to watch and even if we haven't done anything wrong they might pull us over "just to check things out" and make up some lie to justify this. I often take my dd out to the clubs instead of the Mustang...

    Internet world vs. Real World...

I think the import guys are pretty funny. I hear "I got a 10 second car" and I say well mine runs low 9's. Since I figure they must be talking about the 1/8 th mile. Funny they never seem to want to take it to the track. I actually saw a really quick mid 80's Acura last weekend at the track...
