    chin spoiler

Bought the "unrolled" version and it lined up perfectly. Drill the holes from the center out and be careful on the last 2 holes on each end. I had to re-drill one of them as the spoiler bowed slightly despite my careful alignment. Also, one last tip - cut the last 2 end rivet heads in half so...

    chin spoiler

Be aware there are two ways to install (line up) the chin spoiler. One is to keep it flush with the front of the car (leaves a small gap at each end in front of the wheels) or to line it up flush at both ends and leave a small gap under the center. The factory Mach 1's use the latter method...

    Help with Oil PLEASE!

1/2 quart will raise oil pressure - higher oil pressure will place more pressure on seals. Over-filling oil is asking for trouble - leaks, blown seals, etc. Drive it easily until you correct level.

    Help with Oil PLEASE!

2004 4.6 calls for six (6) quarts. Overfilling by 1/2 quart may cause premature seal failure. I would get that 1/2 quart out ASAP!

What Kind Of Synthetic Oil Does Everybody Use?

I use Motorcraft 5W-20 synthetic blend and I plan on changing the oil and Motorcraft filter every 2,000 miles. Changed my 1st oil at 1,000 miles. Car has 1,400 mileson it. You will find everyone has a preference as to which oil they believe is best. As long as you change your oil on a...

How too get this Crap off?!?!?!

After the 3M Adhesive Remover, use some 3M Hand Glaze to bring the shine back and follow up with your favorite wax.

How too get this Crap off?!?!?!

Try 3M Adhesive Remover - very sparingly!!! It removes adhesive, paint overspray and tar. Do not rub hard, but go over several times instead. Good Luck!

    Engine Noise

Mixing synth and non-synth is fine. Motorcraft 5-20 is a synth blend. I think the oil is airating due to the over-fill and should be drained out ASAP. Don't think it a plug. Let me know how it is after an oil re-fill.

    Engine Noise

Maybe tapping now from over-fill situation causing airation of the oil. Change your oil and set new baseline!

    Engine Noise

Tapping was attributed to low oil level. Probably your lifters crying for lubrication. Don't believe any damage was done since you caught it quickly.

    Engine Noise

Also, stick with 5-20 or 10-30 weight for the "test."

    Engine Noise

I would drain out all the oil and start over with a new filter. Does yours take 5 or 6 Quarts? Check your manual. My '04 takes 6 Quarts. Once you have a new "baseline," check the oil level weekly to see if it is consuming oil and if so, at what mileages. I'm assuming there are no oil leakes...

    Engine Noise

How much oil did you add? At 5 Quarts, my dipstick doesn't register any oil. At 6 Quarts it shows full. Are you running synthetic or syn-blend or dino oil? What did your oil pressure gauge register when it tapped?

Rust colored specs on white 04 GT

That's 100% correct! Make sure they don't go through the clearcoat (will be noticible in direct sunlight as whiter streakes in the finish. If they go through the clearcoat, it will require a new basecoat (white) and clearcoat. You cannot apply clearcoat over areas where the clearcoat has been...

Synthetic oil a "waste" of money?

That's a bunch of BS!!! The 5-20 blend provides slightly better gas mileage than a heavier motor oil. Engine oil has ZERO to do with emissions!!! I am using the Motorcraft 5-20 and it works just fine!

Synthetic oil a "waste" of money?

I canshow you my 1958 Cadillac - Non-synthetic oil (Penzoil or Quaker State) changed every 2,000 miles w/filter since new. No sludge, varnish or visable wear. Burns zero oil at 2,ooo miles. The KEY is to change your oil often to remove the acids that build up as a resultant of combustion...

    What engine oil to use?

I'm using the Syn Blend Motorcraft 5/20 at least until the warranty runs out (3 years). It's very good motor oil. Stick with the thinner 5/20. As for full synthetic, everyone has an opinion either [positive or negative. The KEY is to change the oil and filter at 2,000 miles (HOT) to remove...

    No oil on my dipstick!?

When I changed my own oil, at 5 Quarts, the dipstick shows no oil. Adding the 6th Quart brings it to where it should be. In your case, a Jiffy Lube mistake, I'm sure.
