I would never use any aftermarket springs except eibach. After working in the business for 7 years, they are the ones that I saw the least problems with. I saw many springs began to sag very quickly. H&R springs are in the upper spectrum of aftermarket springs, but I still would reccomend...

    351w efi valve covers?

The only reason the tall ones wont fit efi is the intake clearance. If you run a spacer on the intake they should work. I ran the plastic ones, I believe they were comp cams or something, with a small spacer and had no problem on an efi 351.

Should I pay a machine shop $160 to hone my cylinders?

yes, pay someone who knows all the tricks. $160 seems a little cheap to me. While it is at the shop, have them hot-tank it, and replace your freeze plugs with thread in ones. It will be a little more, but worth it.

What would cause uneven tread wear in the rear???

camber very rarely wears tires that fast, it is your toe that will wear tires alot. If the camber were out enough to wear a tire like that, then it would be very obvious.

What would cause uneven tread wear in the rear???

you might want to chect the inside of the drivers side rear wheel and see if that is worn, if this is the case, you have a rear controll arm that is damaged, or badly worn.
