    Synthetic Oil Question

So then you know that Ford CANNOT void your warranty by using Amsoil synthetic for 25k miles, using their filters and changing them every 12.5k?? I could care less about opinions, everyone has one and they're all based upon BS. I have my opinion on things, doesn't mean they're right...only...

    Synthetic Oil Question

I know how long it takes to change the oil....so what? That was never in question. We recycle here as well, however you are still wasting oil. Not contradicting myself at all... attack me, I'll gladly show you the same courtesy. I and others have been trying. Others can comprehend it...

    Synthetic Oil Question

You'd be absolutely right if the oil was contaminated or there was something wrong.... This is hysterical...it's people like you three why people who REALLY have technical knowledge don't visit this site anymore.... By the way, I'm still waiting for ONE fact that synthetic oil deteriorates...

    Synthetic Oil Question

The question was who changes their brakes, hoses and belts every 5k miles? Get it straight.. Again - you don't have a clue what you're talking about...you think you can tell the quality of an oil by looking at it? The ONLY way to tell the properties of an oil is to have it analyzed. HAVE...

    Synthetic Oil Question

    1. It is a waste of time to change the oil if it doesn't need to be done. 2. It is a waste of money to throw something out that doesn't need to be (let alone the environmental aspect). 3. I am helping people who otherwise would be listening to your ridiculous uninformed banter about a...

    Synthetic Oil Question

So AGAIN, why not change your brake pads every 5k miles? Your radiator hoses? Your serpentine belt? Better safe than sorry, right? Great tech guys....you're right, you know SO much. :notnice:

    Synthetic Oil Question

Ahhh....the idiots always start with personal insults when they don't have any facts to make a point. It's not hurting anyone - never said it was....try reading. It is a waste of time and money and we are trying to help people here - you wouldn't know anything about that. And I'm not...

    Synthetic Oil Question

If you're going to quote the manufacturer's, please, do it properly. Their recommendations are for NON SYNTHETIC oils. I put more stress on my motor than the majority of the people here so you might want to learn about a subject before making a comment that isn't accurate. Why did yo...

    Synthetic Oil Question

Syntec is generally regarded as the lesser of the synthetics based upon how it does on stress tests and wear tests. It is still better than non-synthetic, but it's not as good as the others listed. (And I am a huge John Force fan and would support Castrol if I could). There's no harm in...

    Synthetic Oil Question

It's not expensive? $7/qtx8qts and a filter? That's over $60..... It still remains that the people who are changing their oile every 3-4k are doing so based upon a false belief and not FACTS....Sorry we're trying to help people... Instead of replying, why not change your brake pads every...

    Synthetic Oil Question

I know, I have a history of wasting my breath :) I try to help people....I get accused of not allowing others to have an opinion... I don't deal in opinions, I deal in facts - most others don't and simply cannot comprehend someone saying something that isn't just an opinion, but actually...

    Synthetic Oil Question

Yeah, there really is a difference. Between that and their two stroke oil for the jetskis, I ended up becoming a dealer to save money....it was like an awakening... Oh - the Excursion....it was running the Amsoil bypass filter which is a completely different situation (I have one on my truck...

    Synthetic Oil Question

Why not? I mean you can obviously do what you want, but what logic are you basing your opinion on? Do you throw your TV out every year and buy a new one? Do you change your brake pads after three months even if they're fine? People just don't understand oil and the manufacturers have...

    Synthetic Oil Question

It only amazes you because you don't have a clue as to oil properties and are basing your OPINION on what the oil companies tell you. Have you ever ONCE had your oil analyzed?????? The guy who let it go 35k going to a lube shop was not running synthetic I'd bet, and definitely didn't get it...

    Synthetic Oil Question

Yes, with a GOOD synthetic it can last well over 20k miles (assuming the filter is changed as scheduled). Oil color is irrelevant, and only the dino juice dies quickly. Again, the ONLY way to tell if the oil needs to be changed is with an analysis.

315 on 17x9? will it work?

Very well put....and that was probably only at cruising speed I would suspect. Combine that with the way some guys like to race from stop light to stop light in/out of traffic, it's just asking for trouble. If you want 315's buy rims, or just stick to 275s.

315 on 17x9? will it work?

A 315 will indeed fit on a 9" rim - but that doesn't make it right. In a straight line ONLY application you can get away with it, however a 315 on a 9" rim will not yield the same contact patch as it will on a 10.5 or 11" rim - so why bother? Sure you can say you're running a 315, but a 275...

    275s on a 9 is perfect.

315 on 17x9? will it work?

Oh jesus....this is starting to get really ridiculous... 275's on an 8" rim is just as stupid. Who really gives a F if it hooks? Do a search, I'm tired of typing the same damn thing over and over. Putting a 315 on a 9" rim is not safe, I don't care how many people do it. One of these...

    Autometer Lunar Guage

$360? No way, that's below cost or right at cost. You should be able to find low $400's out there if you look, but like others said, it's about availability. I have a write up of the full installation on my site if you get stuck.
