    External Mustang sound recording while driving

    I've been planning on doing this. Still will this summer hopefully. What I'm going to do is mount the camera to the side of the car with a suction cup rig, then mount the mic to the trunk/bumper again with some sort of suction cup rig, making sure to put a windscreen on the mic.

    Right on. That's one thing I haven't gotten to yet. Dunno if I will this year, but I really really want to. My experience is pretty much all bolt-ons and wiring, but I've read through the install a couple times and am confident.

    I never had the problem. Had it occasionally with my '05. Rather than dealing with Ford, I just went to a new station and the problem stopped.

    He does have the best price. I've compared Brenspeed, Bamachips, and VMP, and Bamachips also gave me the best 1/4 mile time. I love Doug's products, and he's a great guy. I've never told anyone NOT to go to him, and he was always my first reference. I would just use caution right now.

    While Doug is a great tuner, he seems to really have fallen behind according to another member here, and a few posts elsewhere. Might wanna steer clear of him for awhile until he gets his personal life and business back in order. VMPTuning is another good tuner.

    Yes, the cold air intake and tune will definitely get rid of the lag. It's mostly the tune that does it. But it's always good to help the car breathe. Sounds like you've got good help, so you should be ok.

    If the person that's helping you has done gears many times, this may be ok. If not, this is another thing I would not recommend doing by yourself. Most everything else I say go for it on DIY, but S197's are terrible to get just right. If it's not done just right, you'll be on here asking why...

    Unless you know what you're doing, I don't recommend tuning by yourself. No need to take the chance. Brenspeed has plenty of experience with the cams.     Just go to Ford and order the stock concentric slave cylinder (that's what we have on the S197's. The TOB is part of it). The stock piece is good, it's just recommended to replace when changing the clutch out. I agree, I've heard the 3+ is really the only one worth a crap. That's what I went...

    American Muscle tunes suck. I like American Muscle, but there's no power in their tunes. They're just canned tunes they get from SCT. Are you in Chicago or AZ right now? if you're in Chicago, go to Brenspeed. They're not too far from you and have plenty of experience in dyno tuning cams...

    My 77 Cobra was in a barn for 20 years. Pulled it out, changed the oil and gas, and it popped right off. Not saying other cars can't, or won't do that, but I respect Ford because they've always proved very reliable to me.
