    Mod motor guys...need experienced advice/opinions about 4.6 longevity...

    listen to this guy... back2mustangs - you must be VERY new to the 4.6 crowd...these motors are known to go 200k miles with routine maintenance. my friends 99 GT has 190k miles on it and still runs very smooth. he said it burns 1/2 a quart every 3-4k miles and he still races it on a regular...

    i had a cheap BBK catted h-pipe on a 515rwhp 377 stroker with no problems...had it on there for 3 years i'm sure the cats will last if they are a good brand...unless you bottom them out often

    i have the bassani quiet thunder cat-back with a magnaflow catted x-pipe...it sounds very exotic with tailpipes and screams with dumps...i like it

    i had a line lock on my old 5.0 and liked it alot...in my 01 GT i find that i have to EASE on the brake while powerbraking to prevent my rear brakes from grabbing too much during the burnout...get a line lock, your rotors will thank you

    as long as you have an inch or so of travel before the clutch starts to disengage(pushing it in) it should be right....sounds about right to me...mine catches around the same area

    the rusty piece with the "flying saucer" is the EGR...the other odd shaped piece with the little black knob is the IAC...the kit should have 2 new IAC bolts...sorry man, mistakes happen...i have gotten kits with parts missing several times

    i used the factory EGR bolts on all 3 cars if i remember correctly...all 3 kits came with gaskets and IAC bolts, no EGR bolts

    is it really too high or was it too low when you took it to the dealer?...that is the question how far up from the floor does it start to grab...??

    accually the accufab "should" come with everything you need to install it...this thread sounds like an "installer error" more than a problem with the plenum, but i could be wrong...i have installed 3 of these with no problems whatsoever

    that sucks...mine bolted right up with no problems and i used the factory bolts. mine came with new IAC bolts, not EGR.

    we cut my friends and his radio reception was horrible....he bought a new one because he likes some of the stations around houston that he lost or were really fuzzy...i decided not to cut mine after that..

    if you want that loud throaty dumped sound, you need an offroad h-pipe... with cats, your exhaust is limited to how loud it will be compared to o/r systems. i have bassani mufflers dumped with a magnaflow catted x-pipe and i love the way it sounds...maybe it's just you... :D longtubes...

    the guys who spent more time on the dyno with tuning equipment did not lose any power from 2500+......others lost a few hp/tq down low but you pick up so much up top(where it counts) that there isn't an issue... :nice:

    Did the Gas pedal mod.

    i did this mod about 8 months ago and i purchased one of those spacers from MD. after cutting it down to size it worked perfect and was just long enough to get WOT when the pedal hit the carpet...very good mod and makes it easier to floor the car without having to worry about breaking the cable...
