    1966 mustang coupe-vertible

nice thing is you did it right - I was glad to hear about inner rockers, torque boxes, and underseat pan. there is also an extra stiffener in rear of trunk where tail light panel ties to. Looks like gaps all line up nice. Rims are nice. What did you do for the drip rail that runs accross the...

    uh oh... inner rockers.

Did not box them in. I thought about it but like you said rather not hold water in - Plus I got mine pretty tight around the wheel well - probably could seam seal the gap if I wanted to,. Let me know how rocker fit. Mine had middle plate and were bare metal. Like I said they did not fit the...

    uh oh... inner rockers.

I got the same measurement on my passenger side. The driver side was 1/8" bigger. Not surprised I replaces a ton a sheet metal. Did you get your inner rockers yet. If not look at the dynacorn ones. On the passenger side I used some other brand - were not EDP's and did not fit very well. I had...

    uh oh... inner rockers.

That helps will do this evening. Also when I measured to plunger hole on original measurements I measured from dead center on the hole - the hole is flanged out - could theat be where the 1/4" difference is?

    uh oh... inner rockers.

Sure - anyway you can take a picute and point out exactly the measurement spots.

    uh oh... inner rockers.

Measured a couple points but not sure it will do you much good. If you have specific areas you'd like me to measure let me know. Points I measured: 1. 44 5/8 distance from hole for door plunger for interior light to middle hole of door latch in pillar. 2. 45 1/2 disance from door plundger hole...

    uh oh... inner rockers.

I can't tell by the pictures but did you leave the middle cover plate on outer rocker? New rockers come with themif you did. If I don;t get home too late tonight I will meaure my doors but I'm sure your fine - especially if you left the middle plate in and with door braces you have.

    uh oh... inner rockers.

I did not have to take off the rear leaf spring bracket when I did mine and rear torque box stays in tact. Can't you come in from the outside lip to get those out.

    uh oh... inner rockers.

I did spot welds from the side where you can see indentation when sanding off paint. That way you can see what your drilling into. Almost does not really even matter since you will be plug filling them and grinding smooth - plus sill will cover. I guess if you add the time to do the jig I had...

    66 cowl repair help

Your right not too bad at all. I'd take a wire wheel to pitting and see if it opens up more holes. Also, take an ice pic and give it some good hits and patch only whats bad. I've alos used a small spot blaster on spots like that - don't make as much of a mess but you know you got the rust. Not...

    uh oh... inner rockers.

I did not keep track of mine either but I'm guess with floor already out 3 days per side. 1 Day to get out and another day to get in and another day of oh crap what did I get myself into. I made a jig that helped me out a lot - but I was replacing a lot of metal - side cowl panels, firewall...

    uh oh... inner rockers.

I did mine on both sides of my 66 vert. they looked as bad as the pictures. Its a pretty big job. I did inners on one side and and inner/outers on the other. The full peice rocker was actually easier than drilling and welding all the spot welds for just the inner. If you decide to do just...

    Is this a good deal?

Also keep in mind tthat there is a lot of parts that are not reproduced for 71-73 plus the ones that are, are more expensice than the earlier years. Seems like a good price.

    351w or 302 engine build

You can buy a c4 from summit for around $1000 that will hanlde up to 450 hp with shift kit already installed. Thats what I did on my 347 that I put in my 70. I went with 302 since I was doing a boss clone but if I wasn't worried about that I would have went with 351. Bigger stang has plenty...

    headlights upgrade

Yes I used existing wire also. I don't remeber having to cut wire though I think the harnes plugged into existing sockets. I'll have to clean grounds and suckets as suggested. This will be a spring project or I can keep driving around with my brights on - no one seems to notice. :)

    headlights upgrade

I put relay and new halegens in mine and was dissapointed with results. I have heard others acheive pretty good success. I need to check voltage going to headlight - may need to clean orginal connections also. Did that on my backup lights and it made a heck of a difference.

    champion racing radiators good/bad?

I've got an electric in my 70 - its a mercury mystique that fits the radiator nice. Had to fab up a couple mouting points with aluminun metal strips. But no big deal.

    champion racing radiators good/bad?

Got one - Nice radiator for the money - plan on getting another for the current build I'm doing. Read quite a few posts on Champions and the consensus has always been good radiator for the money.
