    Steeda tri-ax V.S. MGW

The first Tri-Ax to hit the market was the one that was prone to breakage. I had it - It was a blue aluminum handle.. and mine never broke. The newer Tri-Ax's come with a forged steel handle that would not break any faster than the transmission itself.

    Steeda tri-ax V.S. MGW

I've had both the MGW and the Tri-Ax (twice!). My vote goes to the Tri-Ax, simply because the handle is adjustable in height. The Tri-Ax I just picked up even came with a rubber isolator to minimize noise. :nice: The MGW shifter is a nice piece too, offering the quietest and shortest shift...

    IAC valve didn.t helped. Help!!!

Another thing I'm considering is the K&N. I've had the Mach 1 for a month, and never had it stall before. Put in a new K&N, and then it happens two weeks later. It could be a coincidence.. I even wiped off the K&N with a rag too.

    IAC valve didn.t helped. Help!!!

Is the part easily accessible without removing much? I'll replace it myself if I'm unsuccessful in getting Ford to do more work. *It's not my intention to hijack your thread MexStanger - hopefully this info is of value to you as well. :)

    IAC valve didn.t helped. Help!!!

Build date for me was 11/22/02, so I have the crapper part. :nice: Forgive me.. what does FPR sensor, and can is it easily replaced? I have a feeling I'll be nickel and diming some parts myself.

    IAC valve didn.t helped. Help!!!

Yeah.. sux. :notnice: I just left a message on the svc mgr's cell that I want the IAC looked at again, but I'm sure it'll check out ok. :(

    IAC valve didn.t helped. Help!!!

I agree the IAC seems to be responsible, but since they can't duplicate it they haven't offered to replace anything in regards to that. Any recommendations on how to demand a new IAC? Sux.. I hear the Mach's IAC in within the manifold, so it's not as simple as me buying a $40 part and removing...

    IAC valve didn.t helped. Help!!!

Top this: Monday went outside to start the Mach. Starts up, then dies. Start it again.. starts and dies. Start a 3rd time & hold the gas down.. stays alive only if given gas. In this condition, I was able to back the car out, and drive to the rear of my work parking lot (the car stalls...

    Scary Problem!!!

If your car was sitting in your driveway at idle and you yanked a battery terminal off for a sec, the car would stall. That being said, fix your terminal issue before you consider buying another battery or alternator. Your additional amplifier is probably not causing a problem, assuming it's...

    making gauges brighter?

The stock cluster uses bulbs, not LED's. To make illumination brighter, wire in some additional bulbs or white led's. The cluster itself has openings on nearly all sides, so sliding in some extra light isn't too difficult.

    The Horror

The pics don't look too bad -worthy of a spankin' to the little one no doubt.. Stop by the body shop and see how much a good buffing will remove. I'm confident you'll still be able to see the scratches a bit, but it should be much easier on the eyes afterwards. Keep the hood, keep the...

    Cobra bumper on GT

I agree that 01 Cobra bumper looks better with the stock Gt hood, UNLESS the 03 Cobra bumper is paired with the corresponding hood too. That combo is tough to beat. ;) My old car w/ 01 Cobra bumper & stock hood:

    Cobra bumper on GT

:stupid: That's exactly it - without the factory 03/04 Cobra hood, you get a gap. The newly drilled holes should be about 3/4 an inch or so in front of the old holes. Test the fitment before you drill, and you'll be set. :nice:

Is something wrong with the clutch?

The factory setup does have a "self adjusting mechanism" which is supposed to adjust the clutches friction point as the clutch wears.. If the friction point used to be much lower and has gradually moved outward, then I'd say a new clutch may be coming up. Otherwise, the high friction point...

    99/01 cobra bumper cover

That can't be right. Car manufacturers are required to makes replacement parts for cars within 10yrs or something like that. BullitStangV8, has you already called Summit Racing? That's where I got my cobra conversion.

Looks like I'm in the minority - MGW shifter isn't for me

I think so.. I liked it in my Gt, but it was kinda noisy. I still have the MGW sitting on my kitchen table, so before I order a Tri-Ax I'd like to see a few ebay bids first. I remember once someone posted over on SVTperformance that you never see anyone trying to trade an MGW for a Tri-Ax...

Looks like I'm in the minority - MGW shifter isn't for me

My point exactly. I just want something better than stock, but not at the expense of comfort. I will probably never run my car at the track.. the only thing I ever race is the clock. I enjoy cruising my car much more than redlining & powershifting. Back in my 5.0 days, I felt differently. :)
