"Paint your car for 50 bucks" I am going to try it.

So I could use some input from anyone here. I contacted rickwrench from his coraire experiment but don;t have a response yet. I am done w/ the front, and I am going to add racing stripes w/ the rustoleum spray paint. He wet sanded and then sprayed on his stripes. My paint looks pretty...

I painted my car for 50 bucks (a complete journal)

I am jealous. It looks like we are getting the same results but you will be out showing off your ride while I am just getting started on the next panel :) Looks good though. I will qualify your thread title... It is a $50 paint job provided you have a compressor and HVLP paint gun already :)...

"Paint your car for 50 bucks" I am going to try it.

Another Update: http://www.bryanswebpage.com/50DollarPaint/ This is going very well. I am totally a believer at this point. I would recommend to anyone if you are hurting for money and want paint, I would go this route before trying Maaco or Earl Sheib. It is time consuming, but I am only $35...

Now I am depressed. Your project is going to go 10X faster than mine. But, the baby will be here in a few weeks. Can't spend money on paint guns and compressor.

    Wiring help needed!

I bundled mine and wrapped the tip of each in electrical tape and stuffed them in the dash. Also just for the heck of it, I now carry a fire extinguisher in the car. I finished the job 6 months ago and have had no issues.

"Paint your car for 50 bucks" I am going to try it.

Here Goes Nothing!! Here Goes Nothing!! I am doing the stang Okay, I learned 2 things. 1. The buffer is your best friend. I bought a Ryobi orbital buffer and used it on the panel I was painting. That thing shines now. Up until this point, I thought the wetsanding w/ 2000 grit was supposed to...

"Paint your car for 50 bucks" I am going to try it.

Let me know how t goes. I am going to do a bit more research on buffing before I make my next move. I also recommend going out and getting the HOT Rod magazine with the article in it. I think Spraying versus rolling won't make a difference in the end (totally guessing here) It seems the...

"Paint your car for 50 bucks" I am going to try it.

    1. Please address my question above. 2. I just went out and bought HOT Rod magazine and read this month's article on rolling the car and at the end of the article it says: "High speed buffers (Makita Sander Polisher) like ours are pricey but you can buy polishers that will get the job done...

"Paint your car for 50 bucks" I am going to try it.

Here's my stupid question..... I got that pane done and I wet sanded it and now I need to buff it. Um.... How do you buff a car? I got the buffer and some Turtle wax buffing compound. What is the process? Just compound? Add water? When have I done enough? Never done this part...

Your brake light switch it on the brake pedal near the top of the arm under your dash. That will just be plug and play. I think one is marked brake power and the other brake switch There are wires leading to the tail labeled L Brake Light and R brake light and third brake. Also the turn...

The one on the left is your voltage regulator. It is likely a black box about the size of a rubick's cube w/ wires running to your alternator. The one on the right is your starter ssolenoid. It will be wired directly to your positive battery terminal.

"Paint your car for 50 bucks" I am going to try it.

    1. What do you mean by smoothing out the paint? What are you doing to smooth it out? 2. How long are you waiting to wet sand tha paint after applying a coat?

    Wiring help needed!

My 2 cents.... Go ahead and buy the headlight switch, ignition switch, and wiper swtich from EZ Wiring. I did exactly what you are doing and when it came to wiring those things to the ford switches, it took a lot of trial and error and this forum to get them wired correctly. The EZ...

Yup, it is really bubbly. Just blow on it, and they will all pop and flatten out pretty quickly. Take some pics of the process if you can, I would like to know how it is working out on the car.

"Paint your car for 50 bucks" I am going to try it.

I am thinking about doing the rustoleum thing for a couple reasons. One, I have a kid due in about 6 weeks which means I have very little money, and I will be home a lot and I have a ton of time. Also it is kept in the garage all but 10-12 days out of the year so I don;t think it will be...
