    Lightening a Flywheel?

shouldn't change performance while clutch is engaged at all. easier to stall when daily driving and quicker revs when you wanna throw up a nice exhaust note at a passing stang, etc. IMO 300 bucks could easily go towards a new midpipe, set of injectors, save up for a b&g turbo hotside, etc.

    Two Suspension questions, need help!

your battery relocation should not make the car lean at all man. did you install the springs the right way? the end of the coil should be at the 6 o clock position facing the driver's side of the car. if installed improperly rotated, it will effect ride height. i wouldn't suggest using spring...

control arm nut being a pain

just curious.... are we talking the front bolt on the rear control arm? or the front control arm? place wrench on nut position floor jack under wrench so that upward motion would loosen nut. jack up and viola! instant loosening my snap-on 600 ft lb. was enough to do the job :nice:

O god, I just did the dumbest thing on my AOD install, quick question

sounds like it won't go in that way notch, if it were me i'd disassemble the whole thing and put them in the right way, otherwise your torque converter could come loose on the freeway leaving you stranded 6o miles from home or something

Stupid question of the day: what exactly does advancing the timing do?

jrichker was explaining why the computer advances timing as rpm's increase (or vacuum or centrifugal forces do it on the pre-EECIV cars) i think the original poster was asking about setting base timing though (he mentioned a timing light  )

    Charcoal canister

isn't your car carbed? the other end of the canister should be connected to a hose that has a solenoid valve inline and then it should lead to the TB or intake manifold i think.

How do u use a torque wrench?

obviously the original equation given by seventy isn't one for use with perpendicular extensions, because it doesn not take into account the diameter of the extension. a 1/4 inch wide (diameter) extension would flex a lot more than a foot wide(diameter) extension anyway... :D

    hood grounded

vristang if your previous theory is correct, then the light will still light up when the hood is closed. try opening the hood and using a jumper cable to ground the hood tot he firewall when it's open. if the light turns off, then that would lead me to believe the function of the ground strap is...

How do u use a torque wrench?

jimbowy- that's what txstang was talking about, but some wrenches don't go to zero. and be sure to NEVER turn counter clockwise, as this will ruin the torque wrench. good advise here people, A+

    Turbonator/Metal Shavings

i was playing along. please don't put anything in your induction that doesn't belong there (except of course for a turbine that is coincidentally linked via a shaft to another turbine that is also coincidentally placed right where your exhaust is routed...... :ahem:

Worst injury while working on your car?

i was pulling off my pressure plate and didn't really know there was really sharp metal behind that thing. i reach behind to tug it away and get a nice clean slice from my first knuckle all the way out to my finger tip on my index finger. it bled for a while. was putting my tranny up and the...
