67 v8 swap - will tranny bolt up?

The equalizer bar is what pushes on the clutch fork when you press the clutch in. it is a bar that sits in pivots bolted to your frame rail and the driver-side engine block. It has an angled arm welded to the center and the clutch adjusting screw is held onto the other end with a cotter pin...

    timing question

I bought a tac/dewll meter from JC Whitney. It is an external unit that I hook up while tuning the carb and such. You can use it while tinkering under the hood. You can probably find something like that at your locat parts store or check JC Whitney out on the web.

67 v8 swap - will tranny bolt up?

68RCodeConv is correct, the same 3 speed was used for V8 and I6 engines beginning in 1967. Yours will bolt up just fine with your bell housing and clutch, but since you are at it I'd buy a new clutch kit for a V8, and don't forget to change the pilot bushing and throwout bearing; always good...

    Stereo question

Have you seen the new 66 Mustang AM/FM Stereo reproduction from Custom Auto Sounds? It's an exact replica of the original am/fm radio (which was a REALLY rare option) but it has modern internals with 200 watts, RCA output/input, and Ipod jack. I put one in my car and I love it! It keeps the...

    Mis-Matched Numbers

That happened a lot on the assembly line. If all the numbers, except the engine code match then most likely a worker on the line mis-stamped the door tag or body VINs. From your description I bet the body VIN was mis-stamped. Jester67 is right, check out the hidden VINs under both fenders...

    3 or 4 spd / drums or discs ?

I'm doing a swap from a 3 speed to a T-5 too. My 66 289 3-speed is fun but I wanted more gears and was debating between an original type 4-speed or a T-5 five speed. I figured the car would be a lot more fun to drive with a 5 speed, not to mention the savings in highway milage, so I am going...

who makes the best crate engines?

I'm searching for an engine too. I ran across a company called S & S Engine Remanufacturing, Inc. in Spokane Wa, that looks promissing. The link to their 289 Engine is: http://www.hiperformer.com/featured_engines/for_289lb.html They provide a 7 year 100k mile warranty, sell at a great...

    Squeeking Headliner

Nope, mine definately isn't coming from the doors or A-pillar; it's the headliner. It's a squeeking noise that sounds like vinyl rubbing against something. If you press up on the headliner hard enough you can duplicate the exact sound. The nearest I can figure is that the slightest body flex...

    Squeeking Headliner

Does anyone else have a squeeking headliner? I have a new 2007 GT/CS and noticed a squeek at highway speeds which seemed to come from the dash, but as I squirmed around trying to pinpoint it I realized it was coming from the headliner. When I press up on the headliner I can cause it to make...
