    Tuner question

Go with the SF3. The livewire has some "toys and flashing lights" but it is no where near worth it. The screen is small, you cant read it, if something dorks up on it, you have to send it back to SCT for 2-3 weeks then they send it back. It has some neat features, but all the HP, TQ, 1/4, and...

How do you all feel about short shifters

I have had both, the MGW and Tri-ax. I liked the adjustability of the MGW and the shift length, but I liked the Tri-ax for being a little crisper and faster.

    Notching Bilsteins for Coilovers

The struts....you dont have to notch them. As for the rears....that is a different story. There has to be a ring cut into the housing. It has to be pretty percise too. If you cut too much, you compromise the shock, too little, and the lock ring doesnt seat properly and can cause the...

    o2 sensor.

If you did it correctly, you are fine. However, they make o2 sensor extensions that are available almost everywhere. Instead of cutting, soldering, and sealing the wires.....you just plug it in and go.

    tork tech

oops, you replied while I was typing. You are supose to block off the one on the back of the blower because the TT manifold has the Lightning IAT sensor port on the passenger side of the blower, just above the fuel injectors. I got a plug from Rock Auto. From there, you have to cut 2 wires on...

    Spark Plug Help

Go with the TR6s, they are probably the best. I ran autolites with my Kenne Bell just until I switched from the KB tune to a dyno tune. Autolite 103s are heat range 6 copper plugs.

    Convert AUTO to MAN

Option #2.....get a manual valve body for the auto. You still have to shift through the gears, but just in a ratchet action. Why does an auto sound better? I'm confused by this one.....I thought the sound was more of a function of the exhaust and not the transmission. Sorry for being a...

    Right tires

I agree on the 295 rears....but I do NOT agree on the INVOs. Dont get me wrong, the Invo's are a good tire, but it is not an all out performance tire. If you want to take it to a circuit, you will kick yourself in the ass all the way home saying "WTF did I do?". If you want a set of Nittos...

How much for a gear install?

I think he is saying carbon fiber clutchs for the rear diff....... Prices are all over the board. I agree that a 4x4 shop might be the best. I could easily see 300-350 for the gears and another 50-100 for the clutch packs for the rear diff. I would expect 400-500. Call around, drive and...

    cobra vs cobra r brakes

The Cobra R brakes are 4 piston Brembo calipers vs the Cobra PBR 2 piston calipers. They are better, but only if you are really taking the brakes to the limit. For daily driving or spirited occasional track duty...the Cobra PRB calipers are fine. They use the same 13" rotors. If you do a LOT...

    NOS with throttle body??

The TB is really a preference thing. I perfer the Accufab because the quality is second to none. BBK is hit or miss. Professional Products is usually miss....but it can easily be corrected if you are mechanically inclined. The TB is not going to be a huge hp increase, maybe a couple, but...

NA Build - 5.0 coyote rods and flat top hypereutectic pistons

Modular Head Shop has everything you need. The $200 Coyote rods are usually take outs...the new ones are $300. MHS also started having pistons made. Go take a look, they are flat top with real valve reliefs. The rods and pistons would run you about $800. Flat top hypereutectic pistons are...

What would you do with 5-6k?

I wouldt touch a 1.7KB with a stick. They were good 5 years ago when that was the entry level for the 2v. They have since switched from the 1.7 and 2.2 to the 2.1 and 2.6 for the 2v's. There are some serious problems with the KBs, they are good, dont get me wrong....I had one.....but I dont...

    Trickflow intake manifold

Is the engine built? The even with heads and cams, the stock shortblock isnt going to hold the RPMs that the setup is asking for. You will also need an ECU from an earlier car to turn past 7k rpms.

    Trickflow intake manifold

What are you looking for in the end? The track heat is a high rpm intake....like 7k+ rpms. New to the market? The track heat has been around several years....the new Trick Flow manifold is the Street Burner.

What would you do with 5-6k?

Just me.....I would to a tork tech eaton build. That could easily be done for under 5k....including the extras that you need. If you wanted to splurge....then it would still be under 6k, possibly 400 rwhp and would still be completly streetable. Start with a Tork Tech Terminator manifold...

    MMR quality?

I got my engine from them last year. There was a little bit of machining that needed to be cleaned up, but it really wasnt that bad. Some of the areas of the block that were machined still had some metal shavings stuck to them. It was just sharp pieces that were extended out past the original...
