    Squeaking when Idling

I've heard that many Fords (not just Mustangs) seem to have this problem. You can upgrade to a better TOB, or I've heard a shot of lithium grease will quiet it down for a time. When I brought mine in to the dealer, I was told (once again) "it's normal." <sigh> :nonono:

    Squeaking when Idling

Welcome to the wonderful world of the high-quality Mustang throwout bearing...

    Helmets

How long have you had it/used it? At first, new helmets tend to be somewhat uncomfortable, since they're so snug (as they should be) and even more because you're not used to wearing one. After a few uses, it'll feel better. :nice:

    Shell "V" Power opinions

Awww, come on...how can you not like the police fish that pull over the shark at the end??? :D

    Stock Gears

Believe it's 3.27 for manual transmissions, 3.55 for autos.

    Air Silencer

Only noticable result when I did it was that the engine seemed to rev easier. I've since put it back on, as I like low-end trq better than high-end hp.

    Slotted & Drilled Rotor Question

If you're road racing, get only the slotted type. Cross-drilled ones will hurt your braking performance (less surface area for cooling), and will often crack around the holes quickly because of this. :(

    colors

Also, the dark highland green (the movie color) was not available on any other Mustang, and Ford claims further it will not be in the future (though it is available on certain pickups it seems).

my suspension needs work, need some opinions please

Probably the Bullitt kit in that case. The Bullitt setup was designed with handling in mind more so than the Mach1 setup I believe.

Cleaning The Engine / Engine Compartment... How Do You Guys Do It?

Yeah, this whole fuel-injection thing is really starting to take off it seems... :D Seriously though, also check your owner's manual...it has some instructions/pics on how to safely clean the engine (what Ford recommends you cover up, etc.). :nice:

    Hawk, Greenstuff, or OEM pads?

Subscribing. I'm going to Summit Point for a track day in a few weeks, and I have this feeling I'm really going to like it and will want to come back soon. :D So better pads will be my first priority... I'm leaning toward toward the Hawk HPS...Funny that they're only a little bit more...

    Accelerator Pedal Question

I'll bet what happened is the previous owner took the aluminum covers off the clutch and brake pedals, but couldn't remove the gas pedal one, so left it. As I've read re the install of the so-called "Bullitt Pedals", the clutch and brake ones go one easy, but the gas pedal is a pita...

FRPP C springs or B springs

Cs will give you a significantly stiffer ride than stock. Bs are pretty close to stock in feel though. :)

FRPP C springs or B springs

You're on the right track... :nice: Though both the Bs and the Cs should drop you the same amount in front (usually between 1.25 and 1.5 for our year Mustangs). Cs are great if handling is your thing, but are pretty stiff. Bs are closer to stock and so still provide some weight transfer...

    cheap brake upgrade

Overall, slotted-only are usually the best bet as I understand it if you're going that route. Cross-drilled rotors are okay for daily driving, but don't use them for any serious racing applications...you'll get cracking at the holes when they heat up.

do bullits react better to modifications ?

I've seen all three. Though for future desirability, the green ones are it, as that color was not available on any other Mustang (plus it's the color from the movie). :nice:

    Digital instrument panel

Don't give up on racing yet...just do it legally. Real drag tracks or road courses are the place for Mustangs...always have been since the 1960s. :flag:

    cheap brake upgrade

Not to hijack, but I'm looking to do just that: upgrade pads (mostly to reduce fade on track days). Any thoughts on Hawk vs. EBC?

    Took silencer out...car sputering

Totally unscientific, but when I removed my silencer, I did notice ceteris paribus that chirping the tires on upshifts didn't occur as easily as before. Since tire chirping is related to torque delivery, it made sense that I had probably lost some torque when I took it out. Ended up putting...
