    How does a engine stand hold an engine?

    I have seen grade 5s snap with a 6 cyclinder on the stand.. Why be cheap and risk it.. main bolts are a good idea.. grade 8 or 9 are my choice.. i believe mine are grade 8.. dont have a problem with the bolts bending.. but my ending stand bends..???

    Car Caught Fire!

    When my 66 caught fire I was standing over the carb when it boomed... carb flooded and my electric choke wire got disconnected and sparked the fire.... not good new.. I know how you feel.. What kinda carb was it? Holley?

    get a stethescope and try to isolate the problem.. if it is a stuck lifter.. you should be able to hear it from the top end better than the bottom.. if it is a bearing.. you will here it from the oil pan better. How long has it been doing it? Mine did it just as you described for about 2...

    had the same problem.. mine was two different things.. 1 I stuck a lifter and destroyed it 2. I spun several bearings.. (Dont ask how... just managed to do it) ;)

    I have power coming into the voltage regulator.. I do not have power at the plug in the firewall.. is the voltage regulator bad?

    I went to the fuse block and checked the wiring all are connected... What was weird was this morning when i went to start it.. it cranked then power shut off. no power back in side.. i put a volt meter on the wires at the back of the fuse block.. no power there at al.. if the voltage regulator...

    Ok.. i have power to starter and and battery is charged.. all grounds are hooked up... But I have no power at all inside the cab. I can bump the starter from the starter relay.. If I put the key in on position and bump it from the outside.. It should start and run... but now power to switch so...
