Electric Door Locks and other door problems

Joe's retrofit cost me $20 for the two actuators including shipping and about $15 worth of miscellaneus parts including new door panel fasteners. It really is the way to go. It is so easy after you get the parts and start looking at the installation instructions he has on his website. But...

    Rubber Plug underneath floorpan

Is that the same stuff that they used along the seams on door jambs on the body of the car and also under the doors along the weld seams?

    HOOD STRUT KIT....NEED PICS

I have the redline kit too. Their website has all the instructions there too. It takes 2, one to do the mounting and someone or something to hold the hood up. I just used a cheap hand held rivit gun from O'reilly's to install mine.

Tinted Windows, . . .Yay or Ghey?

Thank you, but I have sold those wheels and am now sporting the original 10 holes again.. Still not sure if and when I will change them up again. Stick to regular black tint. The shadow tint looks good on imports, but no so good on a Fox.

Tinted Windows, . . .Yay or Ghey?

That doesn't fly in Illinois. When they walk up to the car, they ask you to roll up the window so they can see the tint that they just saw while you were driving. Its not a moving violation, but it is a ticket.

Can you hook up small air horn to stock wiring?

Using the relay is a good idea. I always ran a relay when I hooked up driving lights. If you don't the current pull is higher and will toast a fuse a lot quicker. Using a relay is more reliable and you will have fewer problems with them working. Just my opinion. Plus, maybe there is a...

    Project "BlackOut" 89 convert.

Excellent customization of the console lid!!! I use a hard wired accessory plug behind the radio to plug in my radar detector, but yea, got to have an outlet for the cell phone. The paint from 50resto is a great match as long as you paint the whole top. I have used it to blend in spots in...

    door lock actuator replacement?

The first thing you want to do is to get the rod on the actuator up and into the unlock/lock hole. The easiest way to find it is to take one hand and manually lock and unlock the door with the knob, then with the other hand feel for what is moving inside the door. The part you are looking for...

    Headlight Question

Patience.. Big hands will fit into small hole and be able to change bulb. But not without scraping your knuckles on the radiator fins and saying strange words while they bleed.

    50Restos Wheel kit question

I still haven't decided for sure what I am going to do, but I am with you. I know the kit comes with 245/50, but I really don't want any bigger than 225/55. Besides, that was what the ford brochure shows was the tire size for the ponys. I know with the wheels I had before, on really tight...

Door Lock Actuator Retrofit is the Bomb

The metal strapping is general run of the mill plumbers metal strapping. You should be able to find it at wally world in the plumbing section or any hardware store. Dr, when you say stock size tires, do you mean 225/55r16's,,,, thats what I'm showing was stock on 93 mustangs according to the ford sales brochure on pony rims. In comparison between the 245/50 vs 225/55. the 245's are a smidgen shorter, but 3/4" wider. Do you think the wider part...

    Body piece Prices?

I think he asked how much were some of the body pieces, not how much paint was. Most body shops can mix up the paint, so no need to go online and order from somewhere else. As far as prices on pieces, start doing a search on google and ebay or you could just go to the body shop and they...

93 Mustang Tachometer and Check Engine issue

icm and coil packs will throw codes 223 and 224. If you tach is erratic and dropping to 1/2 its probably the icm, but could be a coil pack too. Make sure you buy those parts from a local parts store with some kind of warranty so if needed its close to replace. There are several posts on...

    Door lock

They do not last forever, but should last more than 2 months. Open the panel back up and check if power is getting to it or not when you hit the switches. I had one after i did the retrofit that the tap on connectors didn't have good connection, but after I soldered them, all was good...

I was the original owner for both my stangs., but that does bring up an interesting question, wonder if I can find my original 92 stang? Or do I really want to see how bad she looks now. Probably in some cold junkard on a slab :(
