Cranks, no fuel pump, relay is good!

Going to fix it up tonight. Had a long weekend working on someone else's car! Hopefully I can update/close this thread tonight!! Thanks in advance for all your help guys! Dan

Cranks, no fuel pump, relay is good!

You got it, I'll try tonight when I get home from work, will update you guys. I suspect somewhere from the EEC pin 22 to the fp relay is cut due to the alarm system that was put in at the time. I may just splice in at the EEC (after testing of course) and run a wire up and over to the FP relay...

Cranks, no fuel pump, relay is good!

I'm sure it has, that's why my FP doesn't come on with key but will work with grounding the test plug. I can run diagnostics so I imagine that works, but the ground from computer to ANYTHING doesn't seem to work. I suspect it was cut for the alarm system re-wiring, which I plan to fix. :)...

Cranks, no fuel pump, relay is good!

I will check that wire there, but I suspect it was a fuel pump wiring cutoff that was part of the alarm that was installed in the car. So now all I have to do is run a wire from the T/LG wire from the EEC to the FP relay and I'm set?? Dan

Cranks, no fuel pump, relay is good!

EXACTLY WHAT IT WAS!!! Red wire trapped under intake!!! Removed, reconnected red wire that was smashed, hooked up orange/black to stud and "grounded the test" plug and the car starts and runs!!! OK. Now, since I'm still not getting a ground from the ECM unless I jumper the test port, does...

Cranks, no fuel pump, relay is good!

Well, here's a little more confession, as I just found a thread re: injector wiring trapped under intake after VC swap. That's what I was doing under the hood that day.. I'm going to check injector harnesses and any wiring that may have gotten trapped under the intake... Obviously there's...

Cranks, no fuel pump, relay is good!

JR - those are the same diagrams I printed out Sunday night in color to troubleshoot... been staring at those things for hours already.. Dan

Cranks, no fuel pump, relay is good!

Ok, I can't seem to get my fat butt to the EEC relay, I pulled the speaker panel and glovebox and it's a tight squeeze in there but I tried to get to it.. I checked via Hissin50's post and I get no power to the WOT red wire either, so now I suspect power to the EEC is bad. Then I go under the...

Cranks, no fuel pump, relay is good!

Will do, otherwise I'll have to make my own ground from the pin 22 from the ECM to chassis and test the EEC 12v switched, but what if that's not going? Put it with a relay to ignition switched 12v??

Cranks, no fuel pump, relay is good!

Ok, I'll try more tonight. My goal is to test comuter ground (at ECM?) and the EEC relay (red wire), right? I'll also check at the WOT relay, but I don't recall seeing anything there... Dan

Cranks, no fuel pump, relay is good!

Yep, I'm still working on it here, I am starting to suspect the EEC relay or a bad ground or both. Might not be BAD so to speak, might be intentionally grounded (hehe) for the old alarm, which I pulled out, causing it to have a cut in the ground wire. I did spend some time under the dash and...

Cranks, no fuel pump, relay is good!

No ground from EEC to chassis, possibly that I cut a ground under dash for EEC relay? Where is EEC relay? I have a EEC tester, it registers with no codes, and the test port has no ground on it. I have to ground the chassis to get ground on tan/green at FP relay. Dan

Cranks, no fuel pump, relay is good!

Just checked the tan wire with stripe is only ground when grounded from the test plug, is this correct? Still no fuel pump and inertia switch is 0/0.

Cranks, no fuel pump, relay is good!

Keep in mind this ISN'T a simple "fuel pump relay test". There may have been a fuel cutoff under the dash that I inadvertantly removed.. I did label the wires I removed. Should I start there first or try to get fuel running?

Pulled rear hatch panel. With key ON, relay IN, I got 0/0 at the inertia switch. Both sides are dead.

Cranks, no fuel pump, relay is good!

OK, I just got SOME resolution. Took off the kick panel on the driver side, found ORANGE/LIGHT BLUE. It is coming INTO a connector, on the OTHER side of the connector is Green/Light Green. So that much I know. The pump does NOT turn on when key is on. I know it should but all I get is the...

Cranks, no fuel pump, relay is good!

OK, more complex. First of all there is NO ORANGE/BLUE wire on the FP relay. NONE. I swear. I am not color blind, I can take a picture of it if you like. My colors are: Tan/Green Red/Black Green/Light Green (I'm GUESSING this is the "O/LB") Pink/Black Here is the table with a...

Cranks, no fuel pump, relay is good!

Thanks guys, printed this out and I'll go test it tonight. I am suspect of the fuseable link and/or the ground... Will report my findings.. Dan

Cranks, no fuel pump, relay is good!

I tried jumpering the EEC test connector to ground and got nothing, but I figured that was due to the bad fuseable link.. and it was before I tried the 12v to O/LB. Do you think the combo of the ground and 12v to O/LB is possible? I suppose, ANYTHING is, but seems unlikely I'd have BOTH out...

Cranks, no fuel pump, relay is good!

I jumpered with the power lumbar plug, which is constant on, as the FP's O/LB should be. But when I jumpered it, it immediately turned the pump on and stayed on, even with no key in ignition, which IMO shouldn't happen. When I try to start it, the FP doesn't make any noise unless I have it...
