No,…..you’re obviously not reading all that I write. RE: the bottom of reply #2529. I go to these things for one reason: I never got enough “ show and tell“ time in first grade.

If that is in fact what you are hearing, you’re gonna have to get it tight(er). When I went to PC fla. last March for the Emerald coast cruise in, the Passenger side strut bolts were loose enough to allow movement like you’re experiencing. The front end would just start shaking while driving...

No,…I‘m already well down the road to making a steel “cap” to put on this engines head.

I appreciate that. You don’t know how many times i gave you credit last weekend for being the “ guy that talked me into” putting a 2JZ in the car.:jester:

To tell the truth I don’t know what I’d say just yet. I worked all day on the front part of the engine cover, and it didn’t turn out looking like a Barra anything. MOF, It looks like a CMA something instead. In the grand scheme of things, it’ll be an engine cover with a ford logo on it. I...

Made pretty good inroads towards my “ Barrawannabe” engine cover. After thinking about the different methods and materials to create this illusion, In the end, I chose steel. And because I didn’t want it to weigh a freakin‘ ton, and because there are a lot of “compound this” kinda bends, and...

I’d put the entire strut shaft under the c c plate, and only have enough sticking through on top to get the nut fastened…if it was me. Wait a minute… I’m already doing that. It is me.

Maybe when you learn how to spell timing, your engine will magically start running better…

Find me one that will adapt to my trans, then find an adapter, then the cams, the exhaust, and the intake manifold that doesn’t have to come from freakin Tasmania, and I’ll consider it. I already went through the “ everything has to come from AU, or you gotta make it” with the last engine….as a...

Ok…I’m motivated. Ive decided to take my own advice, and create an engine cover. I’ll try as best as possible to copy that Barra layout. The embossed ford logo is ordered, as are new plug wires. I plan to remote locate the coils out of sight. The question now is what am I to use for material...

from the factory, they’re buried in the valley under a plastic cover..they manage to live for 40-50k miles until they’re removed from the cars they came in for export to the US.

But now that I think of it… If I can figure a way to fab up a look alike of this engine cover Who’s gonna know that it’s not a Barra?

Naah….I solved the “Toyota in a ford thing” with one small item… That leftover emblem I had from the red car, caused more confusion than just about any other thing. It shoulda actually read “2JZebrajet”, but I had to use what I had.:jester:

I’m back. 700 miles put on the car over the course of 4 days, and not a single problem. Amazingly enough, running at 80 netted 25 mpg. I think it woulda probably did that at 70, but watching the AFR gauge, the engine goes slightly leaner at 2500 rpm than at 2200-2300…it was about 14.9-15.0:1 at...

After Dinner, Kate asks me if I’m gonna go back out for a single lap of the circuit….. “Maybe” I said…( It was actually a hard yes, but I wanted her to think I was weighing my decision) Typical for every cruising venue, the streets are lined with people there to spectate, and egg on the...

silver and red/ maroon go together, it’s the freakin flames that would have to go. All really a moot point, not my car, not gonna win it, not gonna worry about it.
