    FR 4.6 PI Heads

I got into reading about the whole blowing spark plugs and people helicoiling the heads and such. No I haven't blown a plug, just curious and got to looking at what the cost would be to just replace the heads altogether. Jegs has the 4.6 PI Heads and install kit that totals to $486 per side. My...

    Do Flowmasters hurt performance?

The previosu owner of my car had some aftermarket mufflers welded in. Everything is stock I'm sure. I would think these are probably flowmaster mufflers. They do sound really good, but if I get the RPMs up to 3 or so and cruise to a stop...a lot of popping from the exhaust. Is this an...

    Looking at 4.10 gears

75K miles. Yeah I think if I remember right he said the seals, bearings, etc COULD run me up to $150. Seems like he said $70 or so could go to bearings, but once he got it apart he'd see what needs replaced..although seals for sure he said he replaces. So I guess his quote was the max it would...

    Looking at 4.10 gears

I got a quote today, parts and labor for $700 with Ford Racing 4.10's. this is also replacing the seals, bearings, etc. He said while you're at it, it's worth replacing those things. I believe this breaks down something like $200 gears, $150 bearings, seals, gear oil, etc, and about $350 labor...

    Looking at 4.10 gears

I can tell you the ford racing 3.73's are $199. from what I hear the labor to install is in the 200-300 range and if your experience is limited to just installing bolt-ons I think most people are going to tell you to leave gears to someone more experienced.

    Exhaust gurus help me out

Have thought about gears too. Let me say this, maybe my tires are crap..they are like Khumo Korean tires. I have 285's in the rear. tread looks fine on them, but even with the stock gears...even if I just roll out of first and gradually put it to the floor, after about 4k there is quite a bit of...

    Exhaust gurus help me out

thanks for the info. so the stock x-pipe is much more restrictive (versus the OEM) than the catback is (versus the OEM)? If so, heck if an aftermarket catback is more or less just a big improvement in sound and maybe a little bit in power, I might consider just keeping what i've got from the...

    Exhaust gurus help me out

Thanks..Bassani midpipe and catback...more or less just a great sound maker or any seat of the pants feel at all with this mod?

    Exhaust gurus help me out

ok basically on an 00GT you're looking at 3 major sections of the exhaust..headers, midpipe (xpipe), and catback. Is this correct? I don't want longtubes for certain reasons and from what I hear shorttubes really aren't even worth the time and effort. If I go with a catback alone and maybe...

    Throttle Body and Plenum..worth it??

thanks. I might give it a shot. I see BBK has a plenum/75mm package for $325. Might do a CAI at some point as well, but beyond that there probably won't be anymore HP mods. Car runs beautifully and I don't race so I'm not so interested in quarter times or whatever, but those times I do open it...

    Throttle Body and Plenum..worth it??

    2002 GT manual transmission help.

Refer to your owner's manual. My 00 GT calls for the 80-90 Gear Oil PLUS the friction modifier. I got both from the ford dealer. The gearbox uses ATF. I paid $25 (labor) to have all my tranny fluid changed, but if you want to do it yourself, I believe you'll need a pump to pump the gear oil...

    Hydroboost replacement

Had some on and off PS fluid leakage and noticed the hydroboost had some leakage. broke down and just bought a new hydroboost to take care of it. installed it yesterday. Had to reuse a couple things from the old part, one of which is the little black box on the driver side of the booster that...
