    New to the V6 stable

01Ragtop, one thing to consider is that a few people on here have found that if you throw dual exhaust on a naturally aspirated 4.0, you actually get worse performance at lower RPMs due to the exhuast being too opened up (it compromises scavenging). A couple people have recommended (as far...

    3 X-chargers being installed at Afixer's

I was just wondering if this happened last Saturday and how it went :)

    New to the V6 stable

From what I've heard the stock muffler is pretty restrictive. The stock headers don't have even length pipes, so you're scavenging will be compromised too. According to one dyno I saw JBA headers and a new muffler added 17 RWHP (10%) gain. I just got a JBA axle-back muffler, so I'll post...

    JBA Axle-back Muffler

Just a heads up that RPM Outlet has an exceptional price on the JBA axle-back muffler if anyone's interested. (about $40 off) http://www.rpmoutlet.com/05v6jbaexh.htm

    Please Post Your Gas Mileage

Stock V6 auto. I have a 14 mile freeway loop that I can drive late at night using cruise control. With a K&N drop-in filter... At 60 MPH, I got 30.8 MPG, at 65, I got 29.2 MPG. The 65 one wasn't quite pure, I had to break a bit and then get back up to speed because of slow people on...

How fast have you got your v6?

I'll get right on that after I remodel my bathroom, get the pool replastered, get a new AC unit for the house and pay off my CC debt. Thanks for the suggestion :)

How fast have you got your v6?

It might also have something to do with the speed rating of the stock V6 tires.

Please Advise on My First Oil Change

From the owner's guide "To protect your engine’s warranty use Motorcraft SAE 5W-30 or an equivalent 5W-30 oil meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C929-A." Pennzoil does meet this specification if you use the correct weight. I also replaced my filter with the Motorcraft replacement because...

    GT Speedometer in a V6?

If I had to guess, I'd say this is possible given that you are able to change the ECM to account for different tire sizes too.

    GT Speedometer in a V6?

I'm curious why you would want to? Do you want the speedo to go up to 140? Or do you want the gauges in the middle and the information console? If it's not the speedo, there is a V6 version of the console (only goes up to 7k RPM and redline is 5750 instead of 6k). I know because I just...

    MRT Axle Backs

I got a quote from a local shop for 2 hours to install a true dual exhaust with H-pipe at $90/hour. Hope that helps.

    Adjust headlights?

Did you set them up as outlined in the book, or did you just raise them a bit? I personally haven't had any problems with the factory setting.

    Adjust headlights?

The height of the top of the beams is supposed to be the same as the midpoint of the headlamp at 25 ft. And oddly enough, I used a copy of the users manual I found on the internet with google :) Best of both worlds!

    Adjust headlights?

Detailed instructions are on pg 34 of the owner's manual. Basically there is a vertical adjuster on the back/inside of each headlamp that you use a 7mm allen wrench or phillips screwdriver on.

    How much oil?

Perhaps petty was an overly harsh word, but I'm never a fan of restricting the flow of good information. Not the end of the world though, like I said it can be found using google.

Brand new, what should I do?

The pony package also includes ABS/Traction Control, which is a nice safety feature.

    How much oil?

Here's a PDF of the owners manual I found using google. http://***********.net/mustangs/timeline/05/05/2005MustangOwnersManual.pdf EDIT: Apparently Stangnet refuses to allow that URL. How petty. I also used 5 qts on my last oil change. It was perfect.

    v6 headers

What mods would be grounds for getting the warranty work 'bounced'? I'm thinking of doing free flowing muffler, jba shorty headers and a K&N FIPK. Thanks,

OOPS, my car wont get into my garage, its too low....

Given the fact that she said "OOPS" in the title and said "is lowered too much" in the body of the orignal thread, I inferred that she lowered it on purpose (or bought it that way) and it was too low for her garage. That may not have been what she was trying to imply though.
