    engine tips

    heres a tip. take off those 351 heads and have the combustion chambers measured. They should be around 60cc's. they are probably much higher. If they are you are making your compression ratio lower and losing power. You should have them milled down to reduce the size of compression chamber.

    From the pictures it looks like you have notched out the rear frame rails between the torque boxes and tire centerline. If this is how you have done it you made a huge weak spot in the inubody and you will get all kinds of bending and twisting. Not to mention making the car unsafe to be driving...

    Use some thin plastic between the foams and covers. This will help the covers slide over the foams.

    It wont go back on the dyno until I get a bigger pulley. I am shooting to tune it right in around 500HP. I am running an 8 rib pulley

    thats exactly what I am going for. It made that power at 5000 rpm and then started to drop, so there is no need to rev it up over 6000.

    I went in for a tune yesterday and on the first run I made 483 HP and 509 TQ. After throwing in some more fuel and about 5 runs into the tune I made 536 HP and 525 TQ:D.     GUIDE PLATES

    to give you a simple and to the point answer you need to measure the thickness of the guide plates and then have that much machined off of the rocker bosses on the heads. You may need shorter pushrods to get the valve tip in the middle of the rocker roller.

    depending on the converter you may have a plug and you may not. If you do you should see it through a hole in the flywheel at the front of the converter.

    Seeing how you already have the conversion studs all you would need is guide plates to hold them in place. You shouldnt need to buy anything else.
