Whine from differential - most likely causes?

FRPP are the only gears I'd use. As far as the whine, try the easiest thing first - change the fluuid.

Stock '90 flywheel - 28 or 50oz.? And how many teeth?

I need to get a new flywheel to the guy building my motor so he can balance everything, but don't know which one I need..? It's a '90 302 block, for what it's worth. Thanks for any help.:nice:

Stock gauges are notrious for being wrong. I'd not even pay attention ot it after adding the AutoMeter.

    Idle way high-need help ASAP

Disconnect the IAC and turn in the stop screw to raise the idle to where you want it. If you've got no more surging idle problems, it's most likely your IAC. I just went through the same stuff with my car a few weeks ago (throttle sticking betwen shifts and the idle problems). I've been...

    NEW DAY NEW PROBLEM

My car was doing the same damn thing a few weeks ago (hanging up between shifts, idle would jump a bit when putting it in gear, etc.). After removing that ridiculous idle adjuster plate, cleaning the IAC, TB, etc. and setting everything back up, the idle wouldn't go lower than 1500, with the...

Do you shift at redline or no?

If you had a set of heads other than stock on there, I'd shift at 59-6000rpm. The stock heads, regardless of what else you've got done are holding you back from making more power up that high.

Do you shift at redline or no?

Stock? No more than 5200, IMO.

    Exhaust question

Yes, and the drone would probably get on your nerves REAL quick. Why not get an off-road H pipe (and keep your stocker come emissions time, if you have them)? That'll make it sound way better, IMO. Leave the glass paks for the Camaro/Firebird crowd. :D

Lincoln Mark VII - Everthing Compatable?

Watch yourself with that '87 Mark engine, as far as swapping in a cam or slapping on different heads unless you change to pistons with valve reliefs. It's got the '86-spec Mustang H.O. (200hp/285tq, flat top pistons, smaller TB, lower intake, crappy E6 heads, etc.). I know all too well about...

Those of you with A9S ECMs and a T-5, question for ya..

Ok, over the weekend I converted my car to mass air with an A9S ECM and a C&L mass air meter. Before the conversion, between shifts, the idle would drop like normal. Now, the idle kind of "hangs up" between shifts and it's getting annoying. I've had issues with the IAC before where the idle...

Does anybody elses calipers "clack" ?

Did Mustangs come with anti-rattle clips like Mark VIIs did? If so, maybe yours are missing..

    IDLE?TPS?SURGEING

Not if you don't have to. Just elongate the holes in the TPS to get it set to where you want it. Also, if the car doesn't surge with the IAC disconnected, I suggest either cleaning or replacing it. Good luck. :nice:

Upgrading to a 155lph pump, do I need a AFPR now??

Go with a 190 or 255, like was already said. Nothing worse than doing things twice. And you don't need an AFPR with it. I ran my 190 with the stock regulator for well over a year with no problems. Good luck.:nice:
