    Oil pump driveshaft length?

I forgot to install that clip years ago when I had my motor out redoing it. I've been lucky so far. I usually remember that it's not there whenever I pull the dizzy and just give it a little shake before pulling it all the way out so the driveshaft will drop out of it. I wish they mad a...

How did you insure your modded mustang?

I know it's a few month old thread, but me and my father in law have been building a '33 Ford 2dr Sedan street rod and he went with Grundy because they seemed to have the best rates and options. We just went down to Louisville last weekend for the NSRA nationals and Grundy had a booth there and...

    Rear end gear help

Put the rear up on stands, put in neutral and spin a tire and count the revolutions of the driveshaft. If you have 3.73 the driveshaft should turn 3 complete revolutions and 3/4 of another to each 1 revolution of the tire. 3.08's would be just over 3 revolutions, etc.

    8.8 Build Thread

I've always heard that it takes some kind of special welding to weld the tubes due to the center section being cast and the tubes being thinner walled tubing. Maybe just needing to heat the one with a torch first to get it hotter, dunno.

    Thermostat Bad?

I didn't think turning the heat on caused the engine cooling fan to run. Turning the a/c or defrost on does though.

    odd ball smog pump part

that's just a check valve that allows flow only in one direction. It keeps the exhaust from coming back up towards the heads and smog pump.

Transmission Won't Slide All The Way In

Or use a bar clamp on the clutch fork to pull it forward a few inches. It will go the rest of the way in. Sometimes I've had to rotate the tranny a bit left and right to get it to go all the way in.

    Oil pan replacement

+1, it may just need a new gasket. You can drop it enough to get a new gasket in. Felpro makes a nice one piece with steel reinforments that usually come with a set of plastic dowel pin type hangers that go into the pan mounting screw holes and will hold the gasket in place while the pan is...

Progress Thread We're Back And With A New Project. Build Thread!

Don't forget when you do eventually up the boost you will want to get a better meter. That Lightning 90mm is only good for about 425-450 rwhp. I used to run one but is easily pegged with aluminum heads and 10psi

Just an FYI before you try to install it, the powerpipe is upside down. That nipple/port goes up near the blower inlet and is for the bypass.

Borgeson / Maximum Motorsports Steering Shaft Evaluation and Questions

I've been running one since '06. I bought it from MM but it wasn't welded or any different than the Borgeson one, which I was a bit upset because I paid $25 more for the MM modified one than a standard Borgeson one I could have gotten locally. MM said that the modified welded ones were new and...

Fuel How To Replace Fuel Filler Tube Gasket *pics*

How important is the collar on the filler neck that's down by the rubber donut at the tank (step one in the first post, pic below)? I installed a new tank and it doesn't have a hole to secure this collar. I could drill one in the lip but it is very close to the pinch weld seam.
