    Exhaust size

Stock K codes (HiPo's) used a 2" system from the manifolds back. That's what I still use on my K along with a pair of Flomaster 40's. Runs just fine and sounds very nice.

    Leaving for Carlisle soon.

Carlisle is always a great time, have made the trip several times - too bad it pretty much rains (a lot) every year and this year looks like its no exception. Bring the mud gear!

let me introduce my '65 coupe

From another coupe guy, very nice looking car and if its as solid as it looks, an excellent deal for what you paid - enjoy it!

    Installing H-pipe

A couple of lead in"s to the ramps made from some 2 x 6's have worked well for me for years - allows the botttom of the front fascia to clear the bottom of the ramp assuming that your car is not excessively lowered.

    how much is it worth?

A decent K coupe with minimal rust and intact right and left fender Vin's (original door tag is nice to have too - does it have a title?) is worth a lot more than 3K. Even if it does not have the original engine, look to see if the original toploader (if it is a 4 speed) and the 9" rear are...

    4 lug thrust II?

TT2's are 5 lug only - never seen any version of these in a 4 lug setup.

    Tachometer Question.....

I had the Tachman (Gary) restore and recalibrate my rally pac tach 3 years back - very nice work and the tach reads less than 100 rpm high (compared to an Autometer I did a temp hook up on for comparison purposes) at 5,000 rpm, which is what he stated on his calibration sheet that he included...

    1966 Convertible Mustang GT Value??

FWIW - If it's a C code than it is not a real GT - GT's were (mostly) A codes and (rarely) K codes.

    torque thrust d wheels

I put a set of TTD 15x7's with 3 3/4" BS on my 65 coupe with BFG T/A's size215-65-15's all around. I have no issues with this combination but all of my fender lips are rolled. There would probably be a rub problem with the front without the rolled lips, as they are pretty close now.

    How to identify a 289 hi-po

Is it a complete motor? Mind if I ask what you paid for it?

    winter = snow

Never have driven either of my stang's in the winter. I do however drive a 2002 Chevy S10 2 wheel drive (actually no posi, so really a one wheel drive). With standard all season tires it was just white knuckle awful driver, starting, stopping and overall handling was very poor. Put on a set of 4...

Hipo Motor w/ 4 speed trans? How much is it worth?

Running K motors with all of the K specific parts in place, typically go for $4,000 to $5,000. Correct K toploaders are going for around $1,000.

    is 68 s-code fastback worth $7k?

What a great find. From the look of those photos, that car is worth 7k without even a second thought. S code fastback cars are now selling in the high 20's to low 30's+ around here when nicely done.

    rally pac

Had my rally pac tach and clock restored by the tachman in South Carolina 2 years ago. Gary is a nice guy and does excellent work. You can check out his website at www.tachman.com

How long do you plan on keeping your Classic?

Had my 87 LX notch for 18 years and my 65 K coupe for 9 years - They are both more than cars, they are my "therapy" for dealing with the up's and down's of daily life and in the long run are much cheaper (and much more fun and effective) than any local psychiatrist. A night in the garage, good...

Some pics from the Mustang Unlimited Show

Car count was down a lot from the normal amount in most of the classes. Maybe 150 cars or so total. The classic area behind the building was probably half full and there were only two cars in the notch class - probably due to the weather, 90 degrees and very humid. I have not missed bringing my...

    Noob....

Horsepower is great for sure - An honest 450hp (not just someones "estimate") out of a streetable 289 will be a challenge, especially normally asperated. Make sure the rest of the car (brakes, chassis, suspension, front end etc.) is up to handling the 400+ hp. your looking for - going from 0 to...
