    160* Thermostat

The Hypertech part number is 1011. Autozone uses the same number but with a HYP prefix I think. It was a PITA to get. I found the part on there website. It is a special order part, so I had to go to the store. The yahoo behind the counter could not find it. So I had to go back home...

    Something loose in front end.

I had an odd thing happen the other day that may be related. While braking hard and making a left hand turn, I suddenly started hearing a clunking noise from the right front wheel. It sounded exactly like the noise a CV joint makes when it is going bad. I could feel it in the steering wheel...

    160* Thermostat

I have a 160* thermostat from Powerstat that fits the new 3V. (Hypertech) Got it from my local Autozone. It has not been installed yet. I plan on giving it a try this spring. The car has an annoying detonation problem that does not seem to go away.:notnice: Once installed and running...

    Rear-End Gears?

You can expect to pay $200+ for just the install. Do NOT have your local yahoo mechanic install them! Either have your Ford dealership do it, or a very good speed shop. I can not stress this enough. I'm running a set of very whiney gears that cost me far more than it would have if I...

    Newbie needs advice

JMS chips have a good deal on an Xcal2 and cold air intake combo. I'm using their custom tuning program and "sluggish" is not how I describe it!:nice: I'm sure you have lots of options.

    Heat/AC/Defrost Blower direction problems

Not sure about your car... but my feet are FREEZING! However my radio seems quite warm. :notnice:

    Heat/AC/Defrost Blower direction problems

Since my car was delivered December and it has always had a problem with the heater/AC blower fan controls. For whatever reason... you can not direct the air to blow towards the floor. It blows fine out the top vents and from the defrost vents, but anytime you select the floor or any...

    Who makes this Grill?

This one appears to be made by Street Scene. I've had one on order for over a month. They should start shipping this week. ya right!

    Intermittant detonation?

LUCKY U with that Procharger!!!! This new 3V engine is a real heat sponge. I figured the aluminum block would dissapate heat better, but ? With a blower, I'd definetly use a lower temp thermostat and consider looking at a PCV oil seperator unit. Could'nt hurt. Might save your car...

    pulleys

Steeda under-drive pullies are very good. I've noticed a nice kick in the butt in the mid-RMP range. Any set you buy will be a PITA to install, as getting the old harmonic balancer off can be a challenge. It is a tight fit. As for a blower.... better keep the stock balancer and water...

    Intermittant detonation?

The stock Thermostat is set at 180 degrees. I got my 160 degree thermostat by special order through Autozone. It is made by hypertech and called Powerstat. PN: Hyp1010 (?) Good luck on ordering it.... it was a pain for me. As for install.... it looks like it is going to be a mess unless...

    Intermittant detonation?

I have a 160 degree thermostat but have not installed it yet. I'm also considering an oil seperator unit for the EGR system. They say it can help with detonation. Gotta find out what is causing this!:Damnit: Last time I checked engines are quite expensive.

    Intermittant detonation?

Anyone got a clue what might be wrong here???? Occasionally on hard acceleration of 3/4 to WOT, I am hearing what sounds like a diesel engine from under my hood. I assume it is detonation.:notnice: The problem does not seem to be associated with outside air temperature or a...

    06 mustang balancer

My 05 also did not have holes! I used a standard puller with an old socket as a spacer. It was a tight fit, but no need to remove the radiator. Ford really blew it on this little detail. And the balancer was nearly WELDED ON... it took a whole lot of pressure and even some heating up...

    Sct

I'm running the JMS Chips "economy tune" on 87 gas. The throttle response is MUCH better. They also tweeked the traction control system to allow for some tire squeel. With the mods listed below, I dyno'd 288 RWHP. I'm confident with the 93 tune, 300 RWHP is within reach. :nice:

Thanks! Just got my GT350R side stripes put on and replaced the factory GT fender badges with 289 SOHC Flag badges..... very retro. I have the Street Scene grille on the way to relocate the factory fogs to the center. A la '67 Shelby. :nice: I may also get my stripes painted on bumper...

I got my Xcal1 from JMS Chips and highly reccommend them! Their custom tunes and kits prices are THE BEST! Spend the xtra $25 and get the Xcal2..... well worth it!

Old thread? Looking for new opinions!

I have the older Xcal 1 from JMS Chips. The price was right, and the custom tunes are fantastic. With the optional computer cord, simple changes to the program are a snap.... However, the Xcal 2 is even better! :nice:

    Fog Lamp Diameter?

Has anyone actually measured the diameter of the GT fog lights? (No guessing or estimates) I'm looking for a H-4 (hi/lo beam) lamp upgrade. There was a post several months ago by a guy who used V.W. headlamps, but I'm looking for a direct replacement.

    Flowmaster exhaust?

Instead of purchasing the "American Thunder" kit, I just had my exhaust guy weld in a couple of Super 40's. MUCH cheaper and they sound great. :nice: I did have a "drone" problem at around 50MPH in 5th gear, but it has since went away. I also installed 4.10 gears which helped puch the...
