    you would regret doing this. 1. it would rip off at high speed 2. it would let too much crap in if you want a functional hood scoop put a shaker conversion on it. performance wise it is all for nothing really though so you may just look at a differnt hood that you like.

    I had to shim one side about 1/8 of and inch. if you seach you will see it not out of the norm to have to do this. I didn't really like the fact I had to but it is a simple fix.

    exhaust power difference?

    IMO on a mildly modified car 2 1/2 pipe is kind of a trade off. It moves the power band a bit. more peak hp but proabably a little less low end. the more mods you add the more the 2 1/2 pipe will help. If no heads, cams, and or blower is in your future I would spend the money elsewhere.

    the easiest way is a long chunk of like 1 1/2 tubing. you just run it through the housing and drive the bearing out. It takes about 10sec per side.

    on a non pi car IMO it is kind of a toss up. even though it is expensive to stay N/A the gains that can be had on a non pi car are pretty impressive. I would go the N/A route myself in your case. what does the mongoose kit make on a non pi car? I don't think it would be much more than that.
