    This is what I did a while back. I pushed down the thottle with my hand, looked at the gap the thottle arm made at the piviot point when the RPMs came up.     I had the hood flapping too, I screwed out the rubber hood mounts and it seemed to work pretty well. Harder to close the hood though.
