Can a T5 be rebuilt to handle more power?

The T-5 has gotten a lot of bad press. I actually had more trouble with the toploader before switching to a T-5 in my road racer. HistoricMustang www.historicmustang.com

Nascar Air Intake On A Mustang

I do have a direct induction set up through the Shelby air scoop! Would think the early models do not have anywhere near the "low pressure" area at the base of the windshild to make this effective. HistoricMustang

    Lowering blocks/U bolts

Yep, this makes sense with friction, spring compression, etc...............somewhat less than 1 inch. Now, THIS is tech. Kind of like if you cut a coil spring does it increase or decrease the rate. There have been fist fights over this one! HistoricMustang www.historicmustang.com

    Lowering blocks/U bolts

Lowering blocks can sometimes be a challenge because of slight curve of the spring in the application area. Aluminum tends to crack and steel also has issues. Mine are actually home made from polycarbonate and are holding up very well and allow for the flex needed. If anyone interested I...

Going To The Track, Need Better Belts, and or Roll Cage?

Make sure you check with the organization that is sanctioning your track event. They may have an issue with convertibles. Hope not, but they might. Some even require that T-tops be firmly in place before letting car on track. HistoricMustang www.historicmustang.com

    Spindle Damage

Yes, if you are going to purchase used parts try to do so at a swap meet so an inspection can be made. I always carry a few basic tools for un-assembly when doing swap meets. The best approach is wait until funds can be gathered and then purchase from a reliable vendor. Several visit us...

    Shelby front end drop

You may want to stick that nose down just a bit. At Interstate speeds she is going to lift producing a "boat in water" appearance. Happy Motoring! HistoricMustang www.historicmustang.com

Quick master cylinder rod length question

It has been a few years since doing this conversion but it seems to me I had to lengthen the original rod when going from the single to dual master cylinder. Can anyone confirm this? HistoricMustang www.historicmustang.com

How much power can an 8" really take ?

The Currie 8" will hold up just fine. Am seeing these do OK at track events. If you are going to stay strictly street without too much playing around the standard 8" will be OK. Most of the Ford rear ends are superior to others. HistoricMustang www.historicmustang.com

Going To The Track, Need Better Belts, and or Roll Cage?

With a convertible try to get that roll bar in place. That will also help with points for the belt installation. If you plan to do much of this set aside monies as a good bit will be needed. Safety first at the track. HistoricMustang www.historicmustang.com
