    electrical smoke when starting

So the other day I took the car out for a while. Ran great. stopped at auto parts store, restarted no issues at all. Got home and just as I pulled in the garage the idle dropped and the car died. I wanted to pull it up a little farther so went to restart and the starter was dragging ..I assumed...

They are "technically" off the hook...they still did a :poo: job of it...the driver side spring was not even close to being in the perch

I am not sure if I took that pic I have to go back and look...I was so wrapped up in my nightmare(honestly if my cousin didn't come to visit this past weekend the car would still be on jack stands--lol) that I might have forgotten...but the newer springs I got were definitely 3/4--1" shorter...

Does any of this look odd? Only thing I noticed is there is no sway bar on this car, is that a vert/84 model thing that didn't come with? Also, this is the pry bar I am using...I cannot get the spring to compress enough to get the rear to come within 2" of the perch.

Suspension Suspension problem--lowering springs gone wrong

I tried it with the arm all the way extended down and nothing under it...is that not correct? I did not think you would set the spring in with the arm not all the way down...if I am wrong please let me know...the mechanic himself said it was a nightmare to get them in, but of course he also...

Suspension Suspension problem--lowering springs gone wrong

OK...so I went to do the struts and adjust the control arm today and first off I am not sure if they even removed the strut when doing the springs, the bolts looked untouched and rusty and it took 3 dousing of wd-40 and 30 minutes of wrenching to break them loose. Finally got them loose and...

I wish I had time to get to it sooner...I could have done it last weekend but instead I spent the days driving it trying to get things to settle.

OK...so just to be clear, ...AFTER I install the new struts and make sure the springs are in the perches correctly, THEN I lower the car onto the ramps and check the a-arms ?

AAhhhhh....I never even thought of using ramps. LOL yeah I am going to tackle all of this myself...should have done it that way to begin with
