    What are the signs of a bad harmonic balancer? When I look at mine it doesn't look like it's going in a perfect circle. It also makes a knocking noise at idle that goes away if i rev it. I can feel the knock if I put my hand on the engine. I was thinking this is the harmonic balancer. ANyone agree?

    Hey tell this to the guy he works at a ford dealership as a professional technician. Its tru though you grind the inside of the tooth a tiny bit which should not contact the pinion at all.

    I helped a ford tech put the 4.56s in my truck 8.8 and we ground down the gear to get the shaft in. No harm done. Teeth shouldnt be in contact with that part of the gear anyway.

    DIY I think is a much cheaper way to go with the turbo. save at least 2000 that way.

    Will EGR not hooked up cause lean condition?

    Just wondering if you let your EGR suck in fresh air would you run lean at part throttle? So this is not a good idea then?
