Swap to beefier 5-speed, or up to a 6-speed?

6 speed is nice, but you'll be spending around $3000. You could do a Tremec 500 / 600 and save a few hundred $. Plus the Tremecs have a higher torque rating, unlees you get the Viper spec T56, which is considerably more expensive.

best off the shelf blower cam?

I'm going with a TFS Stage 1 this time around, along with my 1.7 rockers. It works great with a blower from what I've heard, and it has a 112 LSA. Plus it's hard to beat the price at $159

    Piston to Valve clearance

If they're a copy of the Twisted Wedge then they might clear. Only way to find out is to check PTVC

    Piston to Valve clearance

Yes, you will most likely need to notch your pistons for use with that size intake valve. 1.90 is about as big as you can go with an in-line valve head

Need some help with a flywheel and clutch

28 oz is for older, non-roller 302's. Most strokers (331 and 347) also use a 28 oz balance. You'll need a 50oz flywheel. King Cobra is a decent clutch, and should have a light pedal

You have to use the 50 oz

TFS Stg 1 cam too small for my combo? Need opinions

Thanks for the reply. I looked that one up, it's very similar to my current cam though. I'm mainly wondering if I would gain anything by going to a smaller cam. Plus I want something that is small enough for me to use with my 1.7 rockers. I think I'll probably just stick with what I've got...

Looking at new pistols! OPINIONS WANTED!!!!!

I reload my own ammo as well. Right now I'm only doing 9mm, .40 S&W, .45 auto, .38/357, and .44 mag. I use a RCBS single stage press, which is a lot of work and very time-consuming. It does save a little money, not a ton. I mostly do it because I enjoy it, just a hobby really. Eventually...

TFS Stg 1 cam too small for my combo? Need opinions

I'm going to be putting together a new motor for my car, and I figured it would be a good time to change my cam. Current cam is 510/534 222/232, I'm using 1.72 rockers, so total lift is .541/.567, similar to TFS Stg 2. I'm concerned that this a little too big. Motor will consist of 306 w/...

How about a Walther P99? It's like the big brother of your P22.

Looking at new pistols! OPINIONS WANTED!!!!!

I would highly recommend going with a 9mm over the .380. Price of ammo is pretty comparable and the 9mm is a superior cartridge hands down. What's your budget? There are endless possibilities here. I own about a dozen handguns, and 5 9mm's. Glock, Sig, S&W, Beretta, and H&K are all good...

    More PDR junk

Slide hammers come in a variety of sizes, and they have a wide variety of uses. They are sometimes used for bearing removal as stated, but they are often used for body work as well. There are various attachments that thread on to the end for different tasks. I don't think they would be very...

    Question about draglites

I don't think those numbers are part numbers. My 15x8 Draglites have 44-99 on them. I think it's some sort of date code.

TKO 600 and bellhousing indexing - Is it necessary?

That's what I'm still a little confused on. If the base is attached off-center on the flywheel and you spin the engine, won't that cause the indicator to move along with the base? Maybe I just need to set it up and then it will make sense.

Drive car with Supercharger Belt on?

Yeah, it will run fine. BTW it should be a 53 inch belt

TKO 600 and bellhousing indexing - Is it necessary?

Thanks Matt. I'm a little confused on setting up the indicator though. It seems that if the magnetic stand isn't Perfectly centered on the flywheel, you will get a false reading? Or am I mistaken?

blown head gasket on gf's Sable

Maybe I'm the only one, but I didn't mind working on the 3.8. I did dozens of head gasket jobs on Taurus, Sable, Windstar, T-Bird, V6 stang, etc back when I worked at Ford. I could knock them out in just a few hours start to finish. They were a heck of a lot easier to work on than some of...
