I am in need of 4 speed transmisson information.
I just had my rad 4 rebuilt at One of the best tranny shops in the city. I just wanted one final run of the 4 speed before I go for the t-5. But a poor prior rebuild, and a few boo boos on my own part let to it's demise, but it was behind the 351 for a good 6 years. Even bigger bonus, the...- king combo

Cast Aluminum spoke wheels, worth anything?
Oh, I need 2 KC centercaps too! I still mad someone took 2 of my set of 4. But it's a small city, i'm sure they will turn up. When I put them back on, I'm thinking of using phillips, a robertson, a torx, and an allen key screw to hole them on, with nuts on the back. Sadly, i'd probably end up...- king combo

Cast Aluminum spoke wheels, worth anything?
I used to run bf goodrich 205 60's on the rear and 195 60's on the front. After checking all the tire sites for new rubber, cooper is the one of the few left who make them anymore. Oh well, at least the "Cobra" on the tire suits the car lol.- king combo

Steering rack
Just out of curiosity, has anyone has luck bolting in a rack and pinion from other Fords? I have a mint rack from an early '80's LTD II that was given too me, looks like a spittin image, but hard to tell without ripping the one in my car out. If it works, i'll be sure to let u know in case...- king combo

oil out the dipstick
Just in case, if you happened to plug off any vents on your pcv, it will do the same thing. Or a stuck pcv valve will do the same.- king combo

I'd start with the fuel pump if anything, cheap and easy fix. Of course, all the rubber in the carb will be the next to go. But kits are cheap and easy. The first ride of my King was under the hood pouring fuel down the carb to get her out of the pasture it was sitting in for 8 years. I bolted...- king combo

Have you checked the fuel pump? You may have enough to keep her going, but not enough psi when you open it up. I had that prob, and if I drove for a half hour or so, it would just quit. If it purs at idle, carb may not be too bad. But it could be the accelerator pump on the carb as well if it...- king combo

Tranny Rebuild
Still waiting to hear if my 4 speed is fixable, and how much. I took it to a good shop, but it's been a couple of weeks now. Part of me says screw it, and just get a 5 speed, but if this shop can save the four speed, I think for simplicity sake, may be better. any thoughts?- king combo

Bad enough I piled up the 4-speed in the king, now the c4 tranny in the Cobra II went. Reverse works great, but no drive. It's been on it's way as it was, she had to warm up before you could get any gear, but silly me did a couple of burnouts in the garage, and I believe I took the rest of the...- king combo
