    How can you tell if your U-Joints or tranny mounts are shot?

    Ive had a clunk noise before (in a diff car but still), and all there was to the fix was tightening the tranny mount even more. Hopefully you'll be as lucky.

    Im probably gonna go with side exhaust, and could use the clearance there. Plus my car will probably only gain about 50 hp in its street use, so Im not real high powered over here.

    I think what everyone is saying, is dont waste your money to get a few extra horses outta crap heads, instead, wait a little longer, save up and get heads that will give you the extra power you need.

    Ok were are talking about the rear end here right? If you are worried about all the connections, use my method. Then you dont even have to bother with modifying the flex lines that go to the calipers.

    Changing motor mounts today-how hard?

    Mine took 5 mins, but my engine was out. The only hard part for you would be lifting it up, but I think having a helping hand or and extra set of eyes to help will make the difference. I put mounts from a convertible on my car. Theyre stronger. (I believe 92-3 gt's used them also)

    my car is a 4 cyl conversion, and apparently the guy that did it used the wrong year harness or something. My neighbor filled me in on it, and theres no way Im typing it all.

    I kept my stock booster, and planned on jamming the big cobra one in while my engine was out. I drove around on the stock booster for a while and it felt fine.

    I capped off the hose that used to go to the map sensor. My idle is good now :shrug:

    I meant the hard lines that are on the rear. I would have used the ones off my stock rear, but they were crushed. My solution seemed much easier.

    What I did is defintely not the right way, but I took a small chisel and took th old bearing out chunks at a time. It was worth it though. The old one had CHINA stamped in it....the new one had USA, I had to make the change.

    in terms of the rear, all I did was use the existing lines on the sn95 cobra rear, but I put a union where the brakeline used to go in (to make it straight line there), and I tapped into the line in the stock rear location and thats where I put the "T" that controls the rear brakes.     my money would be on the geared car. The torque of the modded engine in multiplied 2.73 times, whereas the slightly underpowered car has 3.73 torque multiplication. The result would be more sotp feel in the 3.73 car. Atleast thats how I sees it.
