    EFI speed sensor swap?

You can also decide not to connect a VSS to the computer - it'll run just fine without it. Without a VSS, the EEC will store an error code telling you that it's not receiving a VSS signal (duh), and a minor driveability problem is possible - if you run wide-open throttle, full load then...

    Rear End upgrade

I've found 3.55 gears to be in about the right range on my '65 (blown 306 with a T-5). RPM at 75mph (with a 0.83 OD gear in the T-5 - higher than stock and probably higher than your AOD??) is about 2,700RPM and first gear is still usable. A numerically-higher ratio, like the 4.11 gears you're...

Those of you that got blown . . .

I installed a Novi1000 on my '65 with 5.0l and EFI. It took several weekends of determined fabricating and head-scratching to get it worked out. The Novi 1000 kit was originally for a Fox Mustang which I hoped against hope would fit in my '65 unaltered. It didn't. I wound up fabricating...

    engine stalling

It's likely that the 'several years' it sat without running was enough time for the interior of the fuel tank to corrode. It's probably either clogged the sock inside the fuel tank that draws fuel into the line, or there's a partial blockage in the line somewhere. Take note of when the problem...

    Unisteer Rack & Pinion

Mine arrived this afternoon. I broke open the box and took a look -- the rack assembly appears to be of good workmanship, the parts were all present and accounted-for, the installation instructions appear to be comprehensive, and it was well-packaged. All good omens, I'm sure...

    EFI intake hose interference

Gary -- I responded to your email and sent a couple of photos. It is possible to fit the EGR spacer and the stock intake tube in a '65. Hope the pics help. - Andy

    Open diff?

+1to BullitStang's response -- an open diff is no good for a road course unless you're driving a Miata :D - or something else where wheel spin won't be an issue. You'll find that this won't be the case for your car unless you pull three or four spark plug wires. A Traction Loc differential is...

Summit delayed the delivery on mine (again) until 11/4. Who did you have to bribe?

If you've had your fuel tank replaced, please read...

I took my '05 to the dealer for this problem - in my case it'll refuse to fill beyond just over 1/2 tank no matter how slowly you dribble it in. This happened about 20% of the time when I attempt to fill the tank and seems to be worse in cool weather. The dealer gave me an official-looking...

    Axle Moan Fixed

Mine returned almost immediately after the dealer performed this TSB on my '05. Fortunately, it's pretty well drowned out by the cacaphony of dashboard rattles and undercar tinny rattles (all of which are apparently unfixable too) Today's Wall Street Journal: Ford Posts $5.8 Billion Loss...

    Unisteer Rack & Pinion

Summit just delayed their ship date for my Unisteer from 10/27 to 11/3 for the UIS-800087001. They may be starting to wonder about the sudden surge in sales activity...

    Unisteer Rack & Pinion

I just got in on that action too and placed an order with Summit. $575 is a smokin' good deal (agree that they may have the wrong price on it, but I'll take it). I'll report back as well and let everyone know how it goes. - Andy

    Radiator question

I actually found myself in the position of having to use a Fox crossflow radiator in my '65 last spring. First day at the track after a long winter, a poorly-timed downshift, a broken motor mount, and fan contact with the radiator (and of course I drove the track car to the track)... Long...

    Starter won't disengage

Some late-model starters - the kind with the solenoid attached - extend further in toward the gear than older-style starters, which could explain its reluctance to disengage. Did you replace with the original style, or one of the newer style starters?
