    quick steer on 66 Mustang

I have the quick steer in 2 66's, one with a stock pan and the other with a canton 9 Qt pan. No issues with either. As for the transmission changing the angle, I can't answer that directly. I did have my toploader out recently and at that point the rear of the motor dropped a little, so i...

    oil pan problem

I've never heard of a 7 qt replacement pan for the 66 Mustang. Canton and others make aftermarket pans that fit, but that's another story. You can always remark the dipstic when you know exactly what you have in it. What worries me is the pickup tube. If you left everything else alone...

How much is this drivetrain worth?

Here's the problem, if you pull the motor before someone looks at it; it's worth the price of scrap iron---not much. Even then a person does not know what the bore will clean up at until stripped down and checked. Am I'm sure you want to get working on your car. So there's your dilema...

    Parking brake failure

May or may not be broke, just out of adjustment. What do you mean doesn't work? When you pull the handle, does it pull like nothing is attached or pull normally but just not hold? On a 65/66 there are two cables, one attached to the handle, that runs to the equalizer/lever, and one long one...

    Gearbox and Drive Shaft Removal

Why not leave the bellhousing attached. Drop the tranny, roll it forward into the engine bay area and lift out? Am I missing something.

    Tranny Swap

Who's removing and re-installing the transmission? If they are, that's pretty cheap---almost too cheap. I'd get a list of everything that's included. Hate to get it on the hoist and have them say, we forgot to tell you that R & R is not included.

    Painless Wiring

With a painless kit you're rewiring the whole car, (tail lights, gauges, engine compartment) which may or may not be a bad thing????? It also allows for aftermarket additions such as electric fans, upgraded stereos and such. I've heard people swear at them and by them. I have a painless kit...

does anybody make quarter panel trim for a coupe ?

Quarter panel trim What trim are you talking about? Are you talking about the interior quarter panel-(appx 2 ft x 2 ft curved metal) that goes from the door jam past the window to the rear seat? If that's the pieces you're talking about, I've bought them off of ebay-media blasted them and...

Bear brakes with which master cylinder?

Whether you like Baer's or not, I'd at least stick to the same size they reccomend. (or sent) I can't imagine them sending an improper sized MC.

    e-coating questions

I had my doors and fenders chemically stripped a few weeks ago. They put a corrosion "resistant" coating on it. They said it would "help" to stop flash rusting but not eliminate it in very high humidity. I don't know if this is the same as E coating or not. You're still going to have to...

    Windscreen Wiper Arm

I put a towel on the cowl, then a half inch piece of wood on the towel, and then used the claw end of a hammer and slowly pried up. Worked like a charm; off in about 20 seconds per side.

    Oil pressure/Water Temp/Tach guages

Off the top of my head, IIRC the gauges in the 66 dash bezel are around 2 1/16th inch. (I could be thinking incorrectly also) Lots of hacking needed to fit some of these gauges. There is a constant voltage regulator (CVR) behind the dash that could be your problems. CJ Pony Parts has a...

    window removal

The service manual is a guide. (not a very good one, but a guide none the less) I just removed mine, first one took a couples hours and lots of language, the second one about 1/3 the time. The thing about the vent window is you take the nuts off first, then you take the bolts out, from a...
