If you go with the repainting option. I say do the DSG on your GT stuff like you said, then get the wheels DSG with a polished lip.

What color rims for a dark blue LX ?

Anyone here a programmer? You know that wheel thing they have over at Ford's website where you can switch the wheels? How hard would it be to make up a program that, when it opens, allows you to choose which style fox you drive (LX, GT, Cobra, Stalker Kit, Saleen, etc.), adjust the colour...

Low coolant light came on...no coolant puddles...

If you need to replace your heater core try following this tutorial: http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=646250&highlight=heater+core I took my dad's laptop out and put it on a chair beside the car and followed along. It was actually not as bad as I thought. I did need to undo the...

Low coolant light came on...no coolant puddles...

Don't know if you've already changed yours or not, but this is the same thing that was happening to me before I found out my heater core went. If you haven't already, I'd check the passenger side carpet to see if it's wet. Hope that helps.

Two items: New catted H-pipe break-in. Speedo/Odo broke.

The cable runs into the transmission near the rear, or where the driveshaft connects. It's on the left (driver side). If the retaining bolt for the speedo gear assembly is rusty (like mine was) it may have snapped if you bumped it with the new H-pipe and the assembly may have come loose. Just a...

    Doing the Heater Core soon

Heater Core Part Number: E9LH-18476-AA Don't know the part number for the hoses. Somehow I doubt Ford sells either any more. You can get both the core and hoses from a local parts store like Autozone or Napa.

Stupid question, but do i have 02 sensors on my 85 GT?

Yes, it should have a EEC-IV computer in it. Ford starting putting EEC Computers in cars in 1978. You may have an EEC-III, but I'm pretty sure Mustangs had EEC-IV by '85. Source: http://fordfuelinjection.com/?p=2

    Coil Spring Isolater Question

http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/products.aspx?category=MBUS4 Not sure if those are rubber. I would call Ford and see what they want for them. Hopefully someone else can chime in here with some more help.

Need help with proper backspacing..86GT W/Cobra brake upgrade

Yeah, yeah, but no other suggestions right? Anyway, I did some research and 91's right, I was talking crazy before. Stay with your stock length axles if you're going to be running one of the Ford 9 inch wheels. I believe all the ones you listed have a 6.25" back space. Using the...

    Coil Spring Isolater Question

It depends on your preference and tolerances really. Polyurethane isolators are great quality and stiffer than rubber but don't settle at all. They may leave your car sitting higher than anticipated. Rubber isolators will work fine and will usually settle in a little dropping your car a tiny...

03 cobra wheel use with what spindles

Agreed, the 94-95 will keep your stock track width up front. Do not use 99 and up spindles.

    My 8 trumpet Manifold Project.

My jaw dropped. That is ****ing sick! I am extremely impressed just like everyone else. Definately stick that thing on a dyno and see what it gets you. If it works well I wonder if you could market it somewhere?

Need help with proper backspacing..86GT W/Cobra brake upgrade

The front track width in Fox cars is slightly wider than the rear track width to begin with. Go with 94-95 axles if you have the money to spend, you will be able to fit the 9 inch wheels no problem, especially with the quads removed. 96-98 axles will work and look fine with 17x8 wheels. I am...

    PINKS idea!

I'll throw in $10 US through PayPal if I'm contacted. I like the idea of the donators names on the hood! Someone must work at a shop that'll let them use time for this.

    cobra grille insert

Shouldn't be too different. You'd just have to cut out the center "bar" in the LX grill. Unless you know paint and have the tools, I'd pay a shop to have it done right and also someone to fall back on if it doesn't quite work out.

This is a must read for ALL!!

Give me a break, that's just falling into the stereotyping. We drive cheap cars period. That's what helped get the Mustang going. Besides it's not really the car, but more the driver. There are @ssholes driving every kind of car from KIAs to Fords to Toyotas to BMWs.

    Cheap Cobra Intake...

Ford's website even says it's a "Replica". A lot of things are made in China now. When I took apart my dash I was surprised to find a lot of the pieces were made in Mexico. Either way, I'm sure they still work fine.
